I may not be getting a Rivian after all. Just completed a disappointing test drive. I am in real estate so I use my Tesla voice activated maps constantly. Alexa in Rivian could not find my house, could not find my restaurant. Wanted to take me to another state. When asked about this the manager of the Dallas Rivian place said" It is what it is. "You can enter it manually" was his reply. No, my Tesla knows exactly where I need to go, Alexa does not. "Alexa is an amenity" he said, "not a navigation system" Seriously. Somebody please tell me there is a work around for Alexa!!!

So she's in control but rarely, if ever, listens? Horrible sense of direction. Requires constant coddling, and somehow has all your intimate details including bank accounts.

Sounds familiar.

Uh, what?! Oh, nothing honey.

The workaround for Alexa is to not use it. If you need navigation, type it in manually.

Nav is less than great, especially for EV functions (routing to chargers along road trips) but it's not a deal-breaker (and it's one of those things that will improve ... and has a lot of room to improve.)
I use an Android on the dash in most cars -- better route selection, better traffic awareness, simpler interface, functional voice recognition and one environment that already knows my itinerary, addresses, etc.
Rivian said they're working on the mobile app pushing destinations to the vehicle Nav. Maybe that's already happened. In any case, it's something they're improving, not saying it's good enough.

Save the address as a favorite. Send addresses and locations from your phone (now an option in the latest update).

Alexa isn't the navigation system but it does have to match up what you say with a location if you are using speech.

Cancel your R1 reservation and wait for the cYberTruCk.

All options.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
The new software allows you to share addresses from Google and Apple maps directly to the truck. Works great. Still not perfect but a lot better than using Amazon …

The stock NAV is very disappointing, and I've only had the truck for 3 days. I plan on using https://riviparts.com/#phonepro with a charger to use my phone for directions so I can continue to use google maps and/or waze.

Even my wife said, "are you kidding me, no carplay?" I never told her ;).
