2025 R1T TRi MAX
Hello, I just took delivery of a RT tri

I just took delivery of a RT Tri Max on Friday in Normal and the range numbers were the same numbers on the display that you had. The delivery team were as surprised as I was and had no explsnstion. The service manger dropped by and he had no explanation as well. I drove 200 miles back home and charged to 100% and the same range numbers showed up. I have done a hard reset and the numbers are still 346 all purpose and 395 conserve. The Tri max is advertised as 371 and 405 respectively. Will we see the numbers tick up over time or with a SW update? I hope so. The additional was one if the reasons I upgrade from my 22 RT Quad. which had 315 all purpose range.
My tri hasn't picked up and I'm about 1000 miles into it. I'm a little dissapointed they are advertising more than 10% extra range. It's such a large difference it almost makes me wonder if instead of the max pack I received a large pack.

Maybe bc it’s winter. But my range usage is often 1.5x to 2x more than what the actually distance covered this

for example, 20 mile trip takes up 40 miles on my drivers display range remaining.
or 30 mile trip takes up 50 miles. Etc.

Maybe their estimating algorithm isn’t great.

I think you are reading too much into the displayed range. It is pretty irrelevant because your actual range depends on how you drive, and your vehicle does not know how you will be driving in the future. It appears driving history is taken into account, but you have almost no driving history.

So why is it not 405 miles in Conserve? Because Rivian is assuming you will be more aggressive than the EPA test cycle, and they don't want you to run out of charge because you relied on the GOM. (GOM is a technical term that means "Guess o Meter". It is a guess, because your vehicle cannot predict how you will drive.)

If you want to know your actual range for the way you drive, pay attention to the efficiency you are getting. Use that to calculate how far you can drive when you drive in your typical manor.

On the highway at real highway speeds, you will never get 405 miles of range. Ever. I hope you know that. To some new BEV owners, that is a surprise. Highway range is not equivalent to the EPA test cycle, and you can easily knock of 20% because of your lead foot. And then knock off another 10-20% if it is cold, and if you are heating the cabin you may need to knock off even more.

Maybe 395 is due to cooler temps, or maybe Rivian is trying to be conservative due to the lack of driving history. Either way, don't worry about it. It isn't a problem. Just enjoy your awesome R1T!

For the past two yesrs I drove my RT quad motor with consistently and conservatively and never really calculated the actual mileage I was getting – I went by the mileage on the screen and it worked out just fine on long road trips where it really matters the most. The Rivian makes awesome vehicles and I would drive nothing else. Very happy I upgraded to the storm
blue for a long list of reasons but I will miss the limestone color.

this is dependent on the most conservative drive mode .... we need to reset our expectations to 10% lower

Or maybe they should advertise realistically obtainable values. So people converting from gas to ev don't encounter sticker shocks.

I do turn on audio on my gen1 quad r1t but just for some morning religious podcast. So it's plain speaking kind of audio. I sold it and getting r1t tri max dec 24th. Not much audio fan. Don't care if they have some fancy system. I m not a listener. Other then that does anyone have another feedback. Like range. I heard that it says 371 but not even close to 300. Is that true. Also I don't do 0 to 60 in 3 sec. I m like take it easy. So please if someone have a actual feedback from there actual R1T I will really appreciate that. 2025 Rivian R1T tri max, storm blue.

If you don't care about the speed or the fancy features, why would you get a trimax? Get a dual Max pack and save yourself some substantial money.

I must admit that spending $108K on a truck was nerve-racking. Reading through these forums gives the impression that this vehicle and company are half-baked products at best. I have owned BMWs, Land Rovers, a Martin, Hondas, and Toyotas, and all I can say is that after my delivery yesterday, they are all in the dust compared to my buying experience, driving experience, and the delivery of my R1T Tri.

  • Audio: Holy crap, even without using Lossless, the audio experience was miles ahead of that in my premium BMW M series and Land Rover. As an audiophile who uses reference speakers daily, I can say I'm happy.
  • Build Quality: Amazing.
  • Feel: Hell yeah, it feels like a 100+ truck. My Land Rover NEVER felt like this, even when it wasn't in the shop every three weeks.
  • Ride Quality: The ride quality is SO much better compared to Tesla. Honestly, my Tesla Model 3 feels like a Kia compared to this thing.
  • While Tesla is great with acceleration, it struggled in the snow, even with snow tires, despite fiddling with all the regen settings. I thought I was going to DIE even going uphill. After 8 years of owning an AWD Tesla, no snow mode WTF . The ride was rough and felt plastic all the way around.
I am not sure why there is constant negativity towards this product. I would take the Rivian over a Land Rover or Toyota any day. If BMW made a truck, yeah, I’d buy that. As for service, we will see, but it won't compare to the bills I racked up with a Land Rover, which was constantly plagued with "Yes, that Land Rover is well known for [insert some basic feature constantly breaking] that will be fixed in the next model."

So far, Rivian has exceeded my experience as a buyer and given me confidence as a stock owner. Compared to my early Telsa experience, this is night and day. If you're looking to buy, go for it. I went from WTH, do I need a 100K truck for - to holy crap, this is awesome in one day.

Took delivery today. R1T Tri Max, Storm blue, 22” range. Ocean coast interior.
My review:-
Color looks awesome in person. In fact the time I was there signing and inspecting my vehicle, I saw 3 other customers taking delivery of storm blue, seems like most wanted color.
Interior looks awesome. My gen 1 quad was ocean coast interior. After 21000 miles the floors mats were 98% of the original. Means no visible wear and tear, dirty or anything. These mats……I am little concerned. Don’t look like that durable as gen1. Let’s wait and see after 21000 miles.
Sound quality…I didn’t find any issues at all.
Range….yes It does show 346 miles on All-Purpose mode and 392 miles for conserve. Asked the service guys over there. They gave me confusing answer (371 miles is a combined range when you choose between all- purpose and conserve mode, means on long trip you are using both conserve and all-purpose. WTF).
Ride quality is refined.
Regen brake. You have to select All-purpose mode and select High setting in the regen to get better braking. After setting it at high I still felt little bit less aggressive then my Gen 1 quad (just a bit). It felt like I have to apply brakes.
Acceleration at all-purpose felt slower in comparison to Gen 1 quad. It felt like lack of power or something. Didn’t try sports mode.
Camera quality is a real upgrade.
Loving every little bit of the truck so far. No spare tire. Need to find one soon just for peace of mind. Didn’t used my spare in my Gen 1 quad. Software need some better co-ordination between truck and app. At 62% charge setting range is set to 245 miles in the truck, how ever the range that shows in app is 155 at 62%.
Didn’t like press button to open the door for rear doors. No emergency latch easily available (same like tesla). Only emergency latch in front doors. Very worried about incident if the battery or something dies and in emergency how to open the rear doors without panicking. Especially with kids and elderly riders. Government should intervene and make serious safety rules for rear latch for every auto maker, not only Rivian or tesla.
I am ready to put some serious miles on this truck.

Congrats! I am in agreement on those hidden rear emergency door release being hidden under a cover. Would have been better to put an emergency release like what they did for the front doors. Probably a good idea to keep a couple of those window breaking things up front and in back so in the very unlikely event of needing them they could be life savers.

Update.
Wind noise is still there. Its not from A piller, I don't know from where thou. It's not that loud compare to Gen1 quad. But it's there.
Heat pump is useless. It's 56 degree outside. Temperature set to 74. Nothing but cold air. Not impressed.

should definitely put in a ticket, I live in Maine and the heat pump is comfortable in 20F and below within a minute of turning it on to 66/67 ish.

Interesting... I will have to open ticket. I m in California, for us anything less then 50 is cold. My heater was on for entire trip (32 miles) and nothing... It shows red waves showing heat is on but nothing.
