I've owned both. The TRX is a much more fun truck to drive even though the R1T is much quicker. Race for more than a 1/4 mile and the TRX will beat any Rivian. The TRX also blows the Rivian away off road in more open terrain. The R1T is a much nicer truck to drive on smaller streets and to park in crowded parking lots.

I'd like to see how the R1T moves out past 1/4 mile without a 111 MPH limiter.

Also, did they see this?

Nothing needs to be settled in urban traffic. They paid more and got less.

EDIT: I realize now the video above is a bit unfair. Need to slap 20" AT's on the Rivian for a fairer fight. But still, that was embarrassing considering the price paid for that RAM.
My $$$$ is on this.

Although Maryland is a very blue state, I live in one of the red rural counties. I was pleasantly surprised at all the compliments and smiles I got when parked at a Tractor Supply Co with my R1T.
Same. Saw a Lucid Air at my TCS the other day tho, so maybe the times they are a changin.

Ram TRX
Rivian R1T R1S Angry RAM TRX drivers last night Rivian x TRX

They both have their place. The R1T is nice, and I like it as a daily driver. Its fast to 60, and its a great size for zipping around town. Its easy to park, and well made. It has the EV torque, but to be honest if you have had other powerful EV's its not mind blowing. If its your first EV then yes it feels powerful. Definitely a first world POV I know.

But the TRX is an all around better truck. Hands down, no comparison. The interior is massive, and fits 5 adults. The ride is smooth and soaks up miles as a highway cruiser. When you want to go offroad and run high speed, the truck has more capabilities than I have nerve. Where the TRX sucks is fuel economy, in city driving it just feels wasteful at 6 MPG in the winter. So for me enter the R1T. But when its time to do big truck stuff, tow, haul, off road, the TRX comes out. This photo was taken as I put the R1T to sleep, while the TRX tackled a 1700 mile round trip in a few days. The R1T would have been crazy tedious to drive.

So i get the EV vs Gas political war. But honestly i think if you love cars, then its easy to appreciate both and see the benefit and limitations of them both.

Can’t think of a better conclusion to come to on this topic.

Around my ways we call this little d*ck syndrome. ?
Lots of generalities and aspersions being cast in this thread.
I've heard the TRX comes with a years supply of anabolic steroids. Its explains a lot. The roid rage experienced by the OP, the small d*ck syndrome and the flat bill snap back hats I see every middle age dude wearing that drives one.

The last part about the hat isn't an aspersion....it's just a fact.

I rather enjoy this thread.......Myself....Raptor, 1000HP Corn Fed 2JZ (70 El Camino) and my beloved R1T. One I can put a giant flag flying high in (Raptor), the following day, I can do a burnout at an 80mph roll and the R1T I get a $7,500 rebate and coal rolled....I rather enjoy this life here in America....Just upraded my solar to 16kW, so I have a fuel station at home with my three Tesla Powerwalls....

Couldn't find my flag today...wonder if my neighbor who just moved here from Palo Alto (where I went to college) burned it....;)

I tried to get the custom plate LTLDCK for my TRX but the state kicked it back.

I love my R1T and all of its incredible attributes, but the TRX and the Raptors are totally different animals. I drove a friend's Raptor in the desert and it so much fun to drive at speed. I'm sure the TRX is even better. I don't think I'll ever own either just based on my needs, but I wouldn't pass up any opportunity to drive them.

I have had more Prius owners flipping off my Ram than I have had Bubba's trying to roll coal on the R1T. My Ram does not roll coal but it is big and some huggers don't like it.
I used to work at a government adjacent weather research laboratory and drove a lifted and off-road built 4Runner. One day I came out to find a Prius had parked so close that my only option was to get in on the passenger side. Certainly can find the arseholes on all sides.

I didn't have issues with any lifted pickups when I was driving the Hummer through red states but it was bigger than a lot of their trucks already anyway.

I think a lot of the ignorant people just assume Rivian is an Asian car company because they look different.
In your area I'd wonder if folks wouldn't be more pissed because it's not made in a union shop. I have a friend who works for GM and said that Teslas have to park in the non-American car employee lot because they aren't union-made.

This is the way. Until EV sports cars become a thing with sufficient range and don't weigh several tons I will always have both. The difference between driving an EV and the rawness of driving the Corvette is huge and I fully appreciate both. EVs are fun but the noise and feel of a big V8 can't be replaced at the end of the day.

I posted one time on something that had just a hint of "political" tone and it was deleted in just minutes by the moderator. Not sharing an opinion for against on this one, just surprised that it survived based on my post having been deleted??
