I would go for it as soon as possible also. From deposit to delivery of our R1T was 4 1/2 years. We love our Rivian. Get yours as soon as you can. Our youngest son has an R1S. He loves his also.

So I wanted to see if there were any reasons to delay delivery for an R1S.
If and only if they moved to 800V infrastructure.
Another option is ordering now then go with shop access & get the QM LE
Thus far they have removed:
  • Branded speakers
  • Wood trim in 2nd row
  • 12v charger in dash
  • 12v charger in trunk
  • 2nd magnet on frink shelf
  • Option for yellow paint
• reduced warranty on the DM
If Rivian said they are shifting to 800V and faster charging in 2024–and they have not—that would be a more rational reason to hold off.
Yes this would be only reason to delay.
