Interesting, my trim looks much tighter and as the window goes up seems like the channel pulls the top off the window inward around the last 3 inches.

The reason why mine is pulled away like that, is because if I don't manually put pressure on the window as it closes, it pinches it..pulling it away and over time, it will pull it further and further.

It's sitting properly right now, but when I picked it up from Rivian, it was pinched for probably the entire week they had it.

I have an apt on the 16th...just spoke to scheduling and he thinks it won't be mobile because its a repeat issue.

Something needs to be replaced, likely the glass. Check the mechanism on other front window and compare. The glass seems to be sticking out too far, before it is pushed inside.

Other window closes just fine.

I've tinted my windows, so if the glass has to go, I'm assuming I'm going to have to fight with Rivian to pay for tint.

What I meant is, check if the glass sticking out by a similar amount on the other side just before it fully closes? If not, there is your real problem. Don't accept a different "fix".

For the tint, you may be on your own, but good luck. It's not too expensive afaik. $100 to $200 may be.

Yeah, in the video, it definitely looks like glass is sticking out more, just before it is pushed inside. You can pause both windows at the same spot, just before it is pulled inside and show the difference to service. I have learnt over the years that service departments are pretty bad and I have to help find the problem. Except the Acura and Audi dealers in Salt Lake City. They were good.

They confirmed it has to come in the shop, not mobile. I am going to chat with them about it when I drop it off. it's really clear in person that the drivers side is clearly out of alignment as it closes.

The issue i see is that Rivian is using what we called "cat whisker" material usually used on inside and outside of the glass in the door channel and also they have 3 small break points in the material at the transitions around the window frame. These are areas for wind noise. They need to usr a rubber material seal one on the door widow frame and one on the body mating surface a la Toyota to reduce wind noise to an acceptable level for a vehicle of this price point

Did the app show that your window is open? I might be having the same issue but I don't have the wind noise. The app shows that my truck's driver side window is open when it's not. And I can't use the close window button or vent windows since it says the window is open.
I am having this same problem. The window is closed, but the app says it is open. I have restarted the app and the truck, and it persists. I also noticed a faint clicking sound when I try to close the window (even though it is up) that I don't notice with the other windows. I tried to schedule a mobile service appointment but they are making me bring it to the service center.

I've been driving our new R1S for about a week now and I too am having a weatherstripping seal problem. My air noise is coming from the rear portion of the door. Don't think it's coming from the window. When driving at highway speeds, if I push on the top-rear corner of the driver door, the air noise increases. Time to make an appointment!

My R1S has been really good regarding wind noise. It's relatively quiet, and oddly enough, this seal doesn't seem to be causing much noise.

Well to add to my window issue, my drivers door now wont open lol. The latch assembly seems to be shot. Two nights ago it wouldn’t shut, and it did it again yesterday. I had to put it in R to make it latch, but then of course when we get to the cabin, it won’t open again. I had to go through the passenger door.

Called Rivian last night and they are doing all they can to add it to my ticket for Tuesday. I’m hoping it’s a simple fix, as it’s the only door doing it and I read someone else had the issue and they just replaced the latch assembly and were good to go.

Update, they just called. The tech thought he could adjust the door without changing the assembly, but when they called me last night, I 100% told him it was due to temps. They agreed to park the car in the neg temps over night, and sure enough, the door wouldn't open in the AM. They changed the entire latch assembly today. They also were able to correct the window issue by adjusting the door. He told me the entire door was set too high, which was also causing issues.

They are leaving the car outside right now until end of day, to confirm the repair worked, and I'll pick it up.
