Anyone have luck getting a guide? Have R1S on order - guide doesnt reply to emails or text

Oh one more thing. The Service Center rep said my R1S was already there and was to be final inspected but then Monday came and she said it actually was *almost* there but ended up there cob Monday and then final inspected on Tuesday in plenty of time.

Related q- if i reject delivery, does that mean i get the payment back?

There is a few folks in here that rejected the delivery. You may want to ask what is going on with that. I doubt that you would get your refund immediately. When I picked up my car in mid march, there are few minor issues, panel alignments. I took the car and do the service tickets a week later and they took care of it.

Got it.. yeah i have lived through tesla hell of shitty panel alignments etc so unless the car is completely rubbish, i don't intend to reject delivery. It was just hypothetical.. since they want payment 2 days before

I had a bit of a different experience. I got shop access and ordered out of it about 1-2 weeks later. That then opened the eight steps and I had a few questions for my guide. Never received any info from a guide.

I then opened a chat on the Service page, and it seemed that for some reason I wasn't ever assigned a guide once I chose a truck (this is suppose to be automatic). To the chat persons credit, she made a referral to the guide managers and I received my guide -- Erik -- the next business day.

Since then, and even after delivery Erik has been great! Whenever I email him, I generally get a response back within one business day.

Other than the one hiccup, the guide experience has been pretty positive for me.

May I ask when everyone did their pre-order that are getting access to the R1S shop? So stoked for everyone, seems invites are constantly being sent out.

As far as I can tell there's no rhyme nor reason of who gets access and when to the Shop. I preordered my R1S 3/21 and a guy that works in my same building got access to the Shop 3 months BEFORE me even though he preordered his 3 months AFTER me. And, we are in the same Capitol Heights, MD SC zone and went to the same Brooklyn SC 1st drive, yet he got a Guide and access to the Shop same day he did his 1st drive, but I got access to the Shop a month AFTER I did my 1st drive and didn't get a Guide until 3 weeks AFTER getting access to the Shop! And yet I NEVER changed my original preorder configuration but he did. SMH

On a related note.. make sure your Insurance ID Card is valid for at least 90 days from the pickup day. If's less than 90 days expiration.. they will nerf the pickup till you can produce a card with a 90 day expiration date.

LMAO .. good call. i haven't switched insurance yet because i don't know the pickup date i got a quote and its a wee bit higher so i wanna save every penny

My R1S pickup was about 60 days before my insurance renewal but I had my insurance agent send me a specific coverage statement for my vin# which was acceptable.

FWIW, I requested an insurance quote from Rivian (Nationwide), but was told Nationwide would only offer coverage if my 19 year old daughter was dropped from my policy (not just dropped from the R1S!) who has 3 years of driving experience, a PERFECT driving record, ZERO claims, and a current good student discount. SMH

Just keep an eye on it as the problem occurs if your 6 month policy renewal happens to come up in less than 90 days after your pickup day. It's bound to happen to many people.. at which point you have to have your ins agent manually create an Insurance ID Card for you.
