Thinking about buying aftermarket wheels for our R1S. It’s a lease so I’ll be returning the R1S in a little over a year. Hoping to get our our R2 in early 2027 and wondering if the aftermarket wheels from the R1S will fit.

No, they will probably not interchange. I saw an early pre-production wheel and the bolt pattern diameter was different (smaller). I also think the offset was different. This all could have changed, but the wheel I saw, looked a lot like the wheels that made it to the early publicity cars. The wheel also was clearly stamped Rivian on the back in the casting.

Makes sense. Different weight and requirements.

I don't think anyone who knows will spill the beans before 3/12. I did read someone stating the R2 would come out with 19" and 21", but given how unpopular the odd sizes are, I have my doubts to their validity. Anyone can claim expertise and insider knowledge these days. Here's an earlier post sharing a photo of the pre-production R2, but Rivian has said publicly that those wheels that we've all seen are probably not what the R2 will release with.

The 5-spoke 20" black AT wheelset is still my favorite, and I hope there's one offered similar to this.
