Anyone trade in their R1T to Rivian willing to share what Rivian offered?

We are moving from our R1T to the R1S and just trying to get a ballpark on what they are giving for Rivian trade ins. Given we save on sales tax, we are fine getting a somewhat lower value. Unfortunately they said they won’t give us any indication until we are in the purchase process.

Thanks

This doesn’t directly answer your question but just in case it helps. I traded in my Maxima when purchasing my r1t. Rivian’s offer was about $2k below what I could have gotten at other online places

I'm curious as well for R1T owners trading in for another Rivian, I may trade in my R1T for another.

I'm likely going to trade in my R1T for an R1S too. I've heard they offer around 70k, but I'm not sure how long ago that was.

I don't know what Rivian offers but most likely Rivian has a deal with a 3rd party to take the cars.

KBB fair trade value is usually a good baseline of what you can expect to be offered.

With that said KBB fair trade for my 23 R1T with 11k has a range between 64-70k. Private party shows about $3,000 higher.

The dealers use wholesale prices and depending on the state of the market they can offer significantly under wholesale if their nervous about losing money.

With all that said anything your told now can change a couple of weeks from now. It's a risk because in order to lock the order and start the process your deposit becomes non refundable.

The big question is how much of your tax will you get back? Might be worth a private sale?

Keep us updated! I'd toying with the idea of doing the same; R1T -> R1S

In Vermont it is 6% (Utah a bit higher) so 64K is $3800 in tax savings to would be neutral between private sale @ $68K or trade-in @ $64K not factoring the hassle factor of selling privately.

FYI mine was 22
Just got our offer $64300 with 13.8K miles - no extra $ for working tonneau, 20” AT dark wheels. Taking the offer for tax benefit and can’t handle selling a second car myself this month.

Just traded my 22 R1T w/ 15k miles for a 24 R1S. They offered $67k.

Wouldn't have done it if both weren't locked in at the pre-hike pricing.
Better than what Ford offered me for my 22 R1T with 16k miles. They wouldn't go above 55k.

For fun got a BMW quote for a 1k mile R1T 2023 over the summer, they offered $67k. Thought it was a joke, didn’t get offended because wasn’t planning on trading it. I paid $80k, current pricing put it at $95k. Guess if trade in is planned going Rivian to Rivian is best.
