Hi Folks,

Anyone else notice this issue? I somehow managed to leave my frunk open last night when bringing groceries in, and of course it rained. I’m sure it’s fine, and obviously my fault, but my Tesla app gives me a clear alert when anything is left open - would be really helpful for folks like us with 3 kids running around (I get an alert that a door is left open at least twice/week after school pickup) Hoping rivian team sees this or I’m missing an option in the app!

it does give an alert. id guess it might be because you weren't far enough away from the vehicle.

Really? That’s weird, I mean, I keep my cars in/at my garage that’s 100+ ft from my bedroom, and my Tesla always notifies. Seems weird that it would require me to be further than a detached garage.

I had a similar experience with a frunk lid inadvertently left open. I did not get an alert, but it did show as opened on the vehicle page of the mobile app, something I only discovered when I was quite far away from where I parked.

Luckily in my case, I was volunteering at a bicycling event, and was in a parking area with a lot of activity. It was also a sunny, rather warm day and so no unpleasant surprises when I returned a few hours later. One of the other volunteers actually asked if it was a feature to vent the truck . . .

Yeah, it was late and when I went to lock the truck it probably did display on the menu as you mention, but it didn’t say anything or have any sort of alert. Again, totally my bad, but I can see this happening to plenty of other busy people and there’s a reason Tesla has clear alerts for this. Hopefully they can improve visibility of this in the app.

Do you use an Android phone @bfilippo? I think that may be the reason there was no "alert" as such. I have a Galaxy and my wife has an iPhone; I don't really get any alerts, but she does.

I just got an alert yesterday, something about "windows or gear tunnel open blah blah". Tbh between multiple email addresses, chat programs, work tools, dozens of security cameras spread over multiple houses and offices and a whole bunch of other crap, I get so many notifications I don't even look at them. But they do come, haha. ?? Google Pixel 8 Pro, fwiw.

I get no alerts from the Rivian if it's left open. That's one thing I miss from the Tesla. I have notifications on and get other notifications. But compared to the Tesla, I don't get:

Not charging warning
Open door
Unlocked
Open frunk/etc

If you have the widget, it shows pretty clearly on the home screen if doors are unlocked, frunk, and trunk open or closed. I also remember getting notifications, but my wife primarly drives the R1S, so I disabled them.
