Assistant Cannot Read Contacts

The Rivian assistant Cannot find any of my contacts even though they are plainly visible on the screen. Call John smith yeilds a "there is no John smith in your contacts" even though it is obviously there. I've tried a reboot and a toggle off and on for BT. Running Samsung Galaxy 26 on the latest UI. Anyone else experiencing the same? Any thoughts on a fix? It is utterly useless right now

IIRC when I set it up there was an onscreen checklist (on the Rivian screen) that listed 3 pre-requisites to enabling text integration. On my iPhone I had to go into settings and enable an additional permission on the "Rivian Audio" connection. Perhaps there is another permission related to contacts you need to accept on your phone?

I noticed on mine, I still can't get it to navigate to "John Smith's house", which seems like something it should be able to do. Calls are fine. But the integration into navigation would be better if it could read the contact's saved addresses.

Should be the bluetooth device for the Rivian. Under IOS , its settings, Bluetooth, and there should be a "Rivian Audio" in the "My Devices" section. Click on the little "i" with the circle and make sure synch contacts and show message notifications are enabled. Note that for some reason I have 2 rivian audios. One is stale and the other is active. I believe the stale one does not have the option for messaging notifications.

I had the no contacts as well. I think I toggled the sync contacts on my phone and probably the rivian, rebooted the rivian and the phone and then things were working again.

Are all of the options for your Samsung phone in the Bluetooth setting checked? IIRC, I had to enable upload contacts setting for them to be available.

Try looking when the phone is connected to your vehicle. Definitely called Rivian Audio on my iPhone.

When I saw your post, I said to myself, I know I saw ‘Rivian audio’ on my iPhone beneath Bluetooth. So I went there to check and there are two listed.

The two I have look like this. I’m assuming I can remove the first one lacking Phone favorites and Phone recents. What does yours look like?

iOS solutions don't apply. On a Samsung, there isn't a toggle to allow contacts in the BT config. You have to watch the phone for the toast message asking to allow contact access. If you miss that prompt on the phone, the assistant won't be able to read them.

Yes I can see "Rivian Audio" now. Mine looks like the second.

Same. It worked a couple days ago. Now it says it doesn’t see any contacts. Bluetooth on rivian shows my phone is connected, upload contacts is on, assistant has my phone checked and on for phone contacts, blue tooth connected on iPhone and all switched on. I ask rivian “can you see my contacts” and she says no.

I'm having the same problem, Samsung Flip 7. Worked great the first few days. If you actually tell it the phone number (call xxx-xxx-xxxx) it will show up on screen with the name. I do share the Bluetooth connection with my partner who uses an iPhone, and I noticed I started having issues once her phone connected and we started swapping back and forth.
