If i go to my car and the temp is over 100°, I don’t think the auto vent is working but never bothered to ask. Attached is Tesla’s settings i like to think that Rivian’s should work the same way

Just going off of the owners manual, it says it does it to 'prevent extremely high temperatures in the cabin'. I suppose this could be intended to provide protection to the screens as well, but it isn't the primary reason.
The message that pops up on the phone when it activates l mentions protecting components including the screens. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That would be awesome, but ambient air doesn't seem like it would be all that effective. I wish they'd implement a more Tesla-like feature set.

I don’t get that notification. I should submit a service request then.

It's the temp inside that matters, to protect what's subject to temps inside. Enclosed space with no air flow. It can get hot inside even if it's not hot outside.
Oh I know, of course. But its never come on when it is 73F outside. I regularly check my app and those days when the interior cabin is 110F+, outside is at least 85F.

Just odd to me. I guess the sun hit the car just right that day.

I noticed the temperature in my vehicle was 104° and I saw the little warning symbol in the mobile app. I turned on auto cabin ventilation to see what would happen. It now states my cabin is 111° after time and I don’t have the warning symbol via the app. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for pointing this out. Are you referring to this bullet….
  • Use the Rivian app to manually turn on your climate system to warm up or cool down your cabin before driving.
Enable auto cabin ventilation to automatically blow fresh air into the cabin when it becomes extremely hot and the vehicle is not occupied.
I’m not getting the point of this feature. By turning on the climate system are we blowing toxic air into the cabin? :puke::mad:

I hope they’re in the process of programming it to run the A/C when triggered… but only for those who bought A+ 😁. ✌

The notification just popped up again. I knew I wasn't crazy. It literally says it's to protect the displays.

Yep. I've yet to get the notification, but I was positive others have shared this very same one over the years.
