A little over a month ago I brought my R1T in for the half shaft spacer fix. Since they were taking all of the wheels off, and I was due for it, I asked for a tire rotation as well. I used to go to the Plymouth, MI SC but that has since been shut down with the opening of the Madison Heights SC. I chose the Chicago SC due to less construction between my home and the SC compared to the Madison Heights SC. Both are the same distance away.

Now, everyone at the Chicago SC was professional and nice. The SC as is was ok. The work being done was expected to take 4 hrs, they offered ride credits but I declined since I brought a book to read. I never went to check on the status of my truck whereas there was a lot of walk in traffic for urgent repairs.

When everything was done, a service advisor was rushing to get me out the door. All of the jack puck locations still had the plastic tabs in the open state, and one of the jack pucks was stuck to the frame. The advisor said that wouldn't be the first time that's happened. Signed the paperwork and off I went.

But the time I got out of Chicago i was finally able to get up above 50mph. That's when I started noticing the steering wheel was shaking, a lot. There was also a slight pull to the right. Fast forward a week, as I'm leaving work I had the windows down and radio off, and I hear this loud electrical whine and rubbing sound from the front right tire. Hop out and check, absolutely no obstructions. Decide to drive the few miles home and dig deeper there. About a mile from home, I hear what sounded like something rolling around in the gear tunnel or frunk, followed by the rear right tire running over something. I took I peak in the rear view mirror, an 8"x14"x3" ish cardboard box was now on the road. Electrical whine and rubbing noise now gone, but other issues remain.

Taking the truck to the Madison Heights location soon to have them look it over. Anyone else have issues from Chicago SC? I should note that since reporting all of this to my guide, he reached out to me once but has not responded to my emails since..

Chicago SC is the worst I have seen in my life. I spoke with a service manager and I was shocked to understand that he did not know much about the vehicle. I brought the vehicle twice for the same issues, and finally after the second time I called in and threatened to put a lawyer since they Chicago Service Center refused to fix a safety issue with seats unlocking and sliding freely without notice. They are picking the car tomorrow, but told me that seats might not be covered under the warranty....go figure.

Hey at least they're picking the car up for you! I was lucky enough to get a loaner when I dropped off my R1T on Saturday, in Detroit (very nice interior to that new SC). Gave me an R1S with 20" AT's and omg those are loud on the highway...

You might want to bookmark the following to see what Rivian will fix for you that might not be covered by warranty. I linked the '22 R1S but just change the year or model to whatever you might have.
NHTSA Recalls/Complaints/Manufacturer Communications

Hope you get your seat fixed!
