Good morning everyone.

Now that I have my R1T, I get to start having fun adding things. Does anyone know of any bed dividers or organizers, preferably that would work with the tonneau cover closed?

I have never been a truck person so am not familiar with all the stuff out there, but am excited to start adding special touches to my R1T to make it even better.

In my minds eye, I am picturing something that stretches across the bed that extends to accommodate various widths. Likely spring loaded so it stays in place with tension.

It would be helpful for me, as I have a “cart” that I haul around my files in for court. In my tesla, it fits nicely in the trunk. It sometimes gets pretty heavy, so I would prefer not having to hoist it into the frunk, and it rolls on the ground, so I would prefer not to sit it on my back seats.

As always, thanks. This community is great

Most of what I have seen are vehicle specific designs. There is one out there that ratchets. I have used commercial versions of these in tractor trailer shipments, but not in a pickup truck. I just ordered one to give it a try. Also, remember that the tonneau cover is not guaranteed to be water proof. You should assume it will leak in a heavy blowing rain.

I'd be concerned that anything spring-loaded would either be too-stiff to be useable, or would be too weak to actually hold loads that shift during driving.

Ideally, someone will come out with an accessory rail system. I've had them on a couple previous trucks, and they're fantastic. You can get tie downs and dividers that slide in the rails and with the twist of a knob they secure in place.

Another accessory I'd like to see is a bed extender. I had one on a truck (also slid on the accessory rails, mentioned above) and when it was folded inward the tailgate could close and it made a nice trunk-shaped enclosure right at the end of the bed.

Agree on spring loaded. The bar I posted is ratchet. I ordered one, I'll post a review after I get it and play around with it in the Avalanche.

There is an industry standard called E Track used in commercial shipping (box trucks and tractor trailers) that is great because there are many manufacturers of a variety of components. This is installed in my company's Isuzu, it's awesome for securing a variety of load types. I can't say I have ever seen this used in pickups, but it has probably been done. Of course, this requires some serious installation techniques that you might not want to do to your brand new Rivian!

E-Track is great for what it is, but I think it's overkill for consumer pickups. Nissan, Toyota, Chevy/GMC seem to have standardized on a smaller C-channel aluminum extrusion. Tons of accessories are available, and even electrical conduit clamps fit.

The bars picture above are about as simple a solution as you can get. If you really wanted something more suite toward the size of the bag you use, you many find someone that can create a rollout tray for you. Similar to what many overlanders use to store gear. I assume your roller bag does not fit in the gear tunnel, right?

Decked offers many setups, but I am just using this as an example, your solution can be much more simple...

Yes. I had seen those on other trucks and agree. It would be great.

Yes. It is too big for the gear tunnel. It will be fun to see what third party solutions develop. I agree with others that a cargo management system would be great and flexible.

Interesting. I have not seen this in trucks before, but I am extremely familiar with where this evolved from - Unistrut. We use thousands of feet of this in our factory electrical construction projects every year. That's a Unistrut conduit strap, lol.

I use one of the ratchet bars posted above in my F150. It holds a storage bin/tool box up against the cab side in the bed. I have some pretty heavy stuff in it and have never had an issue with the ratchet bar failing. I have it set up as low down as it will go...basically on the floor. They will hold more than you think.

Would be great to have a bed mat. I've found anything in the bed currently slides around quite a bit without being strapped down.
I wonder if BedRug will make an offering for the R1T?

IMHO airline type L track is more suited to the sophisticated nature of the R1T
