Hi Folks -

We had a big wind storm last night and have been without power since (tree falling into line on my driveway too…). I have solar but unfortunately haven’t gotten any powerwall’s installed yet.

Thankfully, the R1T is powering the fridge (we have a wood stove so that’s all we need for right now).

I have the truck locked and off with the outlets on a timer for 2 days, since power company is saying tomorrow for power being back on.

Is this the most efficient way to use the truck to power things with the 120v outlets, or does camp mode do anything differently?

Thanks!

That's the way I did it after hurricane Helene came through.

Just make sure you turn-off Gary (camera recording) to avoid battery drainage. It may be turned off since you're still parked at home. Also, I would recommend keeping track of your remaining charge just in case the power company doesn't come thru, you'll need enough range to make it to a nearby charger (preferably a DC fast charger) and back.

In my case, running the frig, occasional use of Keurig and a lamp, the drainage was approximately 1 mile of range per hour.

Worked out pretty well. Got power back last night at midnight. Total loss was about 14 miles over 18 hours or so, running the fridge and the occasional blender.

I’m trying to justify replacing my Lightning with an R1T. I love the 9kw of outlet power to run stuff but I really haven’t pushed anything hard.

I read that the R1T’s 1.5kw is shared across outlets. Is this across all outlets in the truck at the same time or per outlet e.g. 1500 on bed outlets but still can get another 1500 with the Frunk outlets.
