Black R1S Interior - White E-ZPass - I Don't Think So!

Rosey is LA Silver with a Black Mountain interior. Every time I walked into our garage the E-ZPass in the windshield just spoiled how she looked:

Clever guy that I am, I did some digging and found "EZ Skin" to make cover the portion of the E-ZPass seen from inside the vehicle. Then I took some black Gorilla tape to cover the back and cut out where the Velcro attachment strips are. Better, but I could still see the white when I walked into the garage:

Final version? I bought black industrial Velcro and couldn't be happier...

My wife thinks I'm nuts...but Rosey looks better now.

I put mine on glass roof instead of windshield it works fine and is out of sight

Those EZ Pass transponders are the worst. It seems like every other toll highway system has figured out how to accomplish the same thing with a simple RFID strip.

I've gotten in the habit of getting those external ones. Usually, they go on the front plate but we don't have front plates here. They are black and I zip tie it to a black grill portion. Hard to notice and works well.

I don’t use mine that much and only put it out when needed.

I’ve also never had one actually stick to the window during the summer heat.

Bonus points for making that ugly thing hide in the background!

This is awesome! I remember having one of those on the east coast which I would just pull out when needed. In Cali we don’t even need these anymore, they just scan your license plate and match it to your account.

Thanks - the transponder is a necessary evil here and the look of it really bothered me. Without a transponder they scan your plate and mail you a bill (with a significant upcharge for not having a transponder). Apparently the technology to scan your plate and link it to an account hasn't made it to the east coast...

You can go to the ezpass website and order a license plate bracket, it’s black and take it off your windshield all together.

I just throw mine up on my dashboard when I need it. That's one feature my Audi has that I wish Rivian did, an internal transponder for tolls.

My wife thought I was nuts for wrapping mine in black. I do need to switch the velcro still

I spray painted mine with plastic dip. Put some painters tape over the bar code just in case I need the number in the future.
