I have a pixel 9 pro xl. No matter I do, it never wants to reconnect after sleep. I have a G1 R1T. Is there something i am missing, or will i need to continue turning off/on the bluetooth on the truck 6 to 7 times to get it to connect. I even had a field service tech look at it, and he said its normal. Anyone have any solutions?

I have a similar issue, I use a ONE+ android phone. does not happen all the time but when it does I have to turn blue tooth off (on the phone) wait a second and turn back on and then it connects to the car.

Many times I am 50 feet away from the car and it turns on and greats me with those beautiful big eyes and lights the way for me. Wishing this would happen all the time.

I have started to take note of the apps that are open on the phone, how I approach the vehicle to see if I can find a pattern of when it does not work.

I have a 2023 R1T Quad and a Pixel 9 Pro XL with Verizon service, and I am not having the same issue.

Same. Its not all the time. I am a non app running machine. I hate background apps. I even turned of proximity for the phone as my job makes it so i cant use my phone as a key. Im clueless.

I have a Motorola RAZR (2023) that SUCKS as a PaaK. I usually restart the phone, but will just try bouncing the Bluetooth the next time it forgets where the R1T is.

No issues with my husbands iOS or my older Android. It's the f-ing phone.

Nope! Got to the R1T and nada; won't unlock. Tried bouncing the Bluetooth and that did not fix it; had to restart the phone. When we first got the R1T, it would happen... once every couple of weeks. Now the phone loses the connection to the truck almost daily. I'm getting into the habit of rebooting the phone before I head out the door.

Seriously hating on my phone.

Hey dude, can you expand on this statement? You aren't using PAAK? Did you verify that your phone on the XL has UWB selected (Connected Devices >> Connection Preferences >> Ultra-Wideband)? I'm confused between your original post issues and this one.

FWIW, I have the same phone, 2024 R1T and haven't had any bluetooth issues - miles better than my previous Pixel 6. Very rarely, she's slow to recognize me being nearby for PAAK. I'm assuming you've removed the phone from the truck and attempted re-pairing.

Assuming you are discussing PAAK and not music, this seems to be a common problem with Android phones. I searched all over Settings but can't find any setting for Ultrawode. My Razr+ worked great as a PAAK months ago, but now not so good.

For a while it was PAAK, then i just gave up on it. Now i use it for music, and the infotainment system just loses the connection constantly.

I apologize about not being clearer in my earlier post.

It seems like any update after the 2025 updates starting rolling out, thats when the issues i feel began. Maybe im hallucinating.

Same phone - NEVER once has PAAK not worked. Granted, I have a Gen 2 R1S.

I suspect one of your phone settings is to blame. Perhaps you have the phone set to aggressively close the app or kill Bluetooth to save battery. Go into "settings" "apps" and select the Rivian app. Then make sure it has all permissions turned on. While in permissions, turn off "manage app if unused." Then, back out one screen and select "app battery usage" and make sure "allow background usage" is turned on.

Apart from that, it's either a Gen 1 thing or something up with either your phone or vehicle. I haven't had a single issue with PAAK. I've noticed the distance at which it unlocks varies greatly, but it ALWAYS opens by the time I'm at the handle.

Thanks, but I spent 40 years writing inter-computer communication software and I thoroughly beat this possibility to death. PAAK used to work great on my Razr+ then stopped.on my Gen 1. Maybe someday an update to one of the players will bring it back.

This x2. The app needs to run in the background for PAAK to work properly. There have been times where my Pixel snoozed the background app and I had to wake my phone for the truck to recognize my PAAK. You might want to also check your "Developer" settings to see how aggressive your background app kill is or the number allowed.
