Depends. Do you mean hydraulic brake assisted regen? Then the answer is yes and no. Yes for normal driving, but ACC and HWA still use the hydraulic brakes.

As for regen in general, no. The best you can do is set it to low, depending on drive mode.

Thank you tried that, wife is used to “driver profile” that I setup her profile to disable brake regen, Rivian really doesn’t off that to the extent Ford did.

My wife hates regen also. It's strange what people prefer. I love 1PD, and don't understand why everyone doesn't feel that way!

Nope I agree won’t stand on that hill and get plowed over, she likes the Rivian but drives a Suburban now. We no longer need a 7 passenger vehicle. Yes I know Rivian can do this but likes that 3rd folds down for storage like grocery shopping or chairs for baseball/football games. Let me also add a hey that trip wasn’t bad we could stop at Xxx charger and it was quick.

Yes, you can shut regen off on the Lightning, but only go to light regen on the Rivian. I guess it's different strokes for different folks. The high regen one pedal driving has become our favorite part of the Rivian. Without it, the Rivian would not be half as much fun. We also have a 3/4 ton Chevrolet Diesel pickup. Switching back and forth is not a problem. I often drive each every day.

Not in Rivian's wheelhouse to turn off Regen and likely never will be.

Much confusion on "regen" vs "one pedal drive".
I don't know of any EV that allows you to turn off regen. All EVs use regen to recapture energy that would otherwise be lost by using the friction brake pads. EVs with "blended braking" allow regen to be implemented on either pedal - pressing the brake pedal engages the electric motors to slow the vehicle up until maximum regen is reached and then the friction brakes are blended in to provide additional stopping power.
Rivian (and Tesla) have elected to use discrete systems instead of implementing blended braking. The right pedal controls the electric motor(s) for both acceleration and braking. The left pedal engages the friction brake pads.

Is it possible that you haven't fully adapted to one-pedal driving and are lifting up on the accelerator pedal too quickly, instead of slowly lifting off the pedal to more gradually decelerate? My wife used to comment about my "not so smooth" driving style but either I'm better at it now or she's resigned herself to it.

Love 1 PD and high regen! It was the first thing I fell in love with on my R1T (my first EV). Well, that and the acceleration. It is weird that some people just can’t deal with it. It just seems like so much less work than jumping back and forth from one pedal to another. And, don’t forget to hold that brake at every stop light.

My daughter doesn't like the feel of regen. I think others have indicated there is no way to turn it off completely.

With the most recent update, rivian actually added low. Regen to the all-purpose mode prior to the most recent update, low regen was only available in snow mode.

I think a lot of folks don't like regen because it's something new and different from what they have been taught or always done. Friction brakes are still blended in at low speeds even in high regen.

If the driver is unwilling to learn or get used to regen (no judgement here BTW) then an EV might not be the best choice. No regen in an EV will significantly shorten range which will lead to further disappoinment when the driver doesn't get the advertised range out of it.

Are you one of those herky-jerky drivers that is constantly on and off the brakes - on mountains roads or in traffic? Are you one of those drivers that is always tailgating the car in front of you? Are you one of those drivers that races up to stop signs, hitting your brakes at the last second? If this is how you drive, I suspect 1 PD will not be to your liking. If, however, you tend to drive smoothly, anticipating road conditions and traffic ahead, then 1 PD will likely be a winner for you. Hey, maybe adjusting to 1 PD could make for a better, more thoughtful driver. Clearly there are a number of reasons why a person might have an hard time adjusting to 1 PD, but driving style may be one of them.

Once again confusing regen with OPD.

Regen can be mapped to the brake pedal and be indistinguishable from using the friction pads. Rivian elected NOT to do that.
