Put the right tires on and be in the right place and you can spin all 4. I swear officer, I didn't do it intentionally, I was just trying to merge into traffic!!
When the roads are wet and cold, I can still pull sub 3.5s 0-60s with my K02's. But if you turn traction control off, it's very unwieldy. Four spinning tires do not want to go straight.

I got to say I don't get the visceral reaction to the thought of doing a burnout. You'd think I said I like to beat puppies with a baseball bat for a hobby. IMHO it is fairly harmless if done responsibly. If you don't want to do one, then don't do it. If someone wants to do one in their own vehicle, I don't see the problem.

For the record when I get my Rivian and if it were easy to do, I would do it once just to see what it could do. After that I would probably not do it again if only for the reason (exhaustively pointed out here) it is hard on the tires. Expensive tires which I understand already have a pretty short life as it is.
I'd imagine the people complaining are coming from the "bought this because it's electric and efficient utility" camp and not from the "bought this because it's 835hp and can spin all 4 tires and do 0-60 faster than some super cars while also being able to tow 11000lbs" camp. I bought it for the hilarity of the latter.
I've definitely put it in sport, turned off traction control, and launched while giggling at the spectacle/sensation/ knowing I'm spinning the tires.
For the record, I graduated COLLEGE years ago, not just high school.

Very much this. If you don't have a great comfort in how to handle all 4 wheels spinning, be sure to bring a change of shorts..... It can be done pretty easily and is fun as hell, but can go very wrong very fast.

You don't want to end up like "that" guy.....

Havent tried now I want to........ Assume the off road modes would be more helpful like drift mode if you have it Happy Trails :)

And a hack for Tank mode :) would be fun too

Hey now, that was a problem with the truck. Remember the special engineers that are on their way to figure out why it did that randomly all by itself? 🤣

I thought this was the hidden 'nap mode' to help re-align the electrons. You telling me my truck doesn't do this when I'm not looking?!

I do agree with not doing do it in wet or icy conditions because things can go sideways really fast. Especially if you are not familiar with how the vehicle will handle doing something like that.

I upgraded to the quad so I can take it to the oakland sideshows. I'll be doing tank turns and burn outs on international blvd.😂😂
