Oh yes! Haha. It was not a feature that was introduced ahead of time. It was rolled out by Tesla in response to many incidents of bystanders doing just that and Tesla owners having their vehicles damaged and the police called for that reason.
People with Ford or GM vehicles have simply made a sign for Pet Mode that they put on the dash, which is much more visible than looking inside the car at a screen.

I do not take pets with me anywhere except to the vet, but I often leave my vehicles (EVs) running when going into stores during the Phoenix heat. The DRLs are on and the fans are running, so it is obvious the vehicle is "on".

What... are you even arguing? All I offered was explaining how Pet Mode is different than leaving the climate on. And, then the factual history.

You could have just Google'd it:

Could a printed sign be an alternative and arguably more effective? Sure! Go for it! You might need 4 signs though? I admit that the screen seems pretty effective to me because incidents have gone down (eliminated?). If you think about it, a concerned bystander would typically put their face to the glass shielded by their hands to peer inside. In so doing, they would see the bright screen message.

Is Pet Mode essentially a commentary on realities of our society, good or bad? I have no idea! Does owning a vehicle without pet mode make you a bad person? No.

Regarding the noise that an EV's climate control makes to bystanders, that depends. Some vehicles are louder than others externally. Additionally, how hard the system is working also determines how noise it is. In many instances, the climate system makes virtually zero noise outside the car. And, the factual records show that without a sign or message on the screen there were incidents.

Yeah idk why the concept is escaping some people here. I'd much rather click a button and let the car do its thing than bring out the tape and paper every time I have to leave my dog in the car...some people just want to be argumentative for the sake of it. In a crowded parking lot, for example, its hard to really get a feel of where the "car noise" is coming from and difficult to tell if a car is on or not. Pet mode was a great invention and I'm glad Rivian has it. Wish it was an industry standard because it makes a lot of sense, in my opinion.

Is it always that low, or does it have an air suspension and is squatting down?
I did see the air ride components up front when I peeked under the fenders. I would imagine its the traditional Air Ride and Magnetic Ride Control system they're famous for. Not 100% sure if it goes into kneel mode when parked like Rivian does.

Actually looks pretty sharp!

So how many did you get?
Too rich for my blood. I might even pass on the model scale version and instead get the Rivian version from Mattsmodel / Rivian guy ;)

Actually ended up parking next to one of these behemoths the other day. The wheels are absolutely ginormous. Bigger than a 4 year old standing. Made my R1S look like a toy in comparison. It really does have a presence in public. I'd say good job Cadillac, whatever they were going for, they definitely nailed it.
I am starting to see some on the road so the demand is there. Hopefully all this technology will trickle down into their other models. I would like to see it refreshed with better battery technology down the road and see how much weight they can save.

How is the ride? Any thoughts in comparison to the ride and quietness of R1S or an R2?
Will be interesting to see how the Caddy does, but definitely a shot across the bow for Rivian I would say.
I didn't get a chance to sit inside or test drive it. That is something on my list for sure. I will report back with my feedback once I get a chance.

I didn't see a heated steering wheel listed. Is that possible for $137,000?
I would expect heated steering wheel at this price point from Cadillac. I plan to try to go for a test drive in couple weeks to see it first hand.

I tried to build one and it's offering a NACS to J-1772 adapter to me as an option. So for now I am going with no.
