Can we talk about this CT winch bumper?

@EV Sportline - We will buy for our R1 rigs. We must be just as large an accessory market as the CT; was there more requests for a winch capable bumper for that chassis compared to our Rivians?

Sure solving the power issue is one thing; but being able to actually mount a winch securely is a much larger problem. And yes, just setting a 12 V battery in the frunk is an option ??

The cybertruck may look dumb but Tesla is producing a ton of them. Tesla built 30,000 cybertrucks last quarter. Rivian built 50,000 vehicles last YEAR. And Tesla may still be ramping up.

It may be an objectively worse vehicle but it is a lot more profitable to build parts for higher volume vehicles.

I’m sure you’re correct - all due to volume. And sadly expected. The CT will be far more of a BroDozer than the basic mall crawler an R1 will likely end up as.

Quick buy a second Rivian everyone - pump those numbers…. kidding.

I would bet that the install is less demanding on the Cybertruck than it would be on a Rivian. Cybertruck seems to have gone the traditional separate bumper vs Rivian's that combines with other features of the vehicle.

It is a bit easier to develop and install an aftermarket bumper for the CT than the Rivians, but we're listening! If the demand is there, our engineers will work on a solution. Let me talk to Brian...

In the meantime, anyone with a "city fridge" need a heavy duty bumper? ?

Many people have been waiting for news on Rivian’s OEM winch and off-road bumper. There have been prototypes spotted in the wild and previously the app itself made reference to winch control.

Unfortunately, Rivian has abandoned development of an off-road bumper with winch integration.The Reddit mods have partnered with Rivian to address common questions and they answered the winch question today.

Definitely disappointing news for those who have been waiting. I’d guess that Rivian decided it made more sense to rely on the aftermarket.

Allegedly trying the rubicon with factory plates.

They had one or more variants kicking around, but for reasons, decided to focus on other areas. Seems like a missed opportunity to take something to this level, while also including app control of it, to then shelve it.

I'd love to know approach angle impact, and I am interested in what they are talking about a plug and play power unit, but finally something more than test mule unicorns is on the horizon.

I would love to know the hitch weight rating, I'd love to know if I can throw a Surron or similar Emoped on that hitch
