Happy to have taken my 2023 QL - preordered from 2021 when i did. Wonder how this may affect the resale value - not that there is any plan for that.
BTW Montana would be a great addition. Can get the the maggot fest without border delays.

I too am disappointed in all the premiums charged on Canadian customers. I was already balking at the high price for a truck that you can't fit adult skis in the bed, and now there is no way.

The recent price increase is going to make those Gen 1 quads hanging out in the Shop, look a whole lot more appealing!

Get them while they last!

They are hardly appealing ... they're 2023 models which you have to pay GST and PST on. They depreciate 2 years the moment you drive it off the lot. And they also went up in price.

When you can get the performance of a tri for around 140-145k vs 200K what's the better route? Buying an expensive vehicle isn't a sound investment to begin with, but you at least have the opportunity to save a bit of money despite losing some off the top.

It's a consideration for sure, but performance is the only real equivalence. The Tri gets the max pack and about 110km of extra range plus all the Gen2 upgrades.

If the tariffs actually do take effect the USDCAD exchange rate is going higher than 1.5, maybe that's what Rivian is preparing for?

If they had the option to lease, I suspect that these would have been sold already.

They should drive them 100 km and then sell them to a wholesaler, so they can properly sold as used vehicles.

That is very possible, but at that point the exchange rate won't be the biggest issue it will be the tariff. A Tri currently at $155k before tax will jump to $194k if Canada adds a 25% retaliatory tariff on US imports.

True, a whole bunch of bigger issues at that point for US and Canadian buyers.

I'd say this is possible, esp if Rivian doesn't want to be perceived as treating their vehicle prices like stock shares but reminds me a bit of gas (gouge) prices. Very quick to go up if there is some big disturbance but very slow to come back down again.

To put them up this much...well, I can bitch all I want but in the end, the market will decide.

I have 183s... which are not long... but let's get real, the bed is too short
My 184cm fit easily in diagonal in the bed of my R1T...

The point holds... one is not able to fit a quiver of skis, theirs and their buddies' for a day of ski touring, etc... one can fit skis inside a Honda Fit, but that is not the point. Many have decided the truck is worth the high price tag even while mounting skis on a ski rack atop the bed or roof, but in my opinion this is silly. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of things to like about the R1T... but the premiums being asked for an 'adventure design' with clear limitations has kept me on the sidelines thus far
