Just updated R1T to 2025.6. Updated my phone and wife's phone (at least I *think* I updated my wife's phone; not sure)
Following update, checked keys because previously had a problem with my wife's phone not being able to locate the vehicle. Noticed there were 7 keys: 3 for wife (Fob, Card, Phone) and 4 for me (Fob, Card, Phone (Samsung Galaxy A14), + another one).
Deleted the extra under me. Wife's phone didn't seem to be working, so eventually deleted the Rivian app. Went to reinstall, and it says it can't because the app is incompatible with the phone (Motorola G Power 2022). Huh? It was working fine previously, at some point -- not sure when because usually we have a fob with us anyway and don't use it for much except phone calls when in the truck. Maybe hasn't worked for several months as a key. Although before "updating" the app, it at least told us how many miles charge we had. In any case, has anyone else seen a problem with the newer Rivian apps not working on cheap phones?

You might try installing the app from an APK mirror site like apkpure.com. I was successfully able to get it running on my Galaxy Tablet 7 this way, even though it was marked as incompatible in the Google Play Store.
I suspect they are marking it as incompatible because they want to save money on testing and support. If they've declared it incompatible then Rivian will not likely help you if you have a problem with the app.

I was going to suggest the same exact thing @TucsonST suggested. Thats how I have it installed on my old Lenovo Tablet.

Unfortunately, this didn't work. Downloaded the apkpure app, used it to install the rivian app. But when I opened the rivian app it said it was outdated and needed to be updated. But when I went to update it it went to the playstore and it said incompatible.

What version did you install? I installed 2.20.0 and it runs on my android tablet with no issues. There are multiple versions available so make sure it's the latest.

The most recent version on apkpure I see is 2.13.0. If I install it, when I open it it says "This version of the app is no longer supported. You'll need to update it." None of the normal functions of the app are available. If I click the "Update Now" button, it goes to Google Play which says the app isn't compatible with the device. So not only can I not install the new version of the app, I can't even run the old version.

If I go to the apkpure rivian page it shows version 2.20.0, and I see architecture is arm64-v8a. The phone is running android version 12, not 14, and Motorola says it's the latest update. So I'm guessing Motorola is no longer supporting the phone, even though it's only a few years old.

Will it not even let you download 2.20 and attempt to install it?
Well, we gave it a shot. I'm running it on a 5 year old Galaxy Tab S7 with Android 13, so I thought you had a shot. Might be time to look into a phone upgrade.

So... I managed to download it to a freebsd box, transfer it to a ubuntu box, transfer it to the phone. So now I have Rivian_2.20.0.APKPure.xapk on the phone. Under Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps I see 6 apps listed, Chrome, Drive, DuckDuckGo, Files by Google, Gmail, and WhatsApp. DDG and Files by Google I turned on. If I try to open it with Files by Google it says unsupported file type.

So I unzipped the xapk and put com.rivian.android.consumer.apk and a few others on the phone and tried to install with Files by Google. It looked like it started to unpack/install it (said "Installing the app"), but then said "You can't install the app on your device." That may be the play store being extra careful. Do you know how to open a file in duckduckgo that was NOT downloaded with duckduckgo? If I open the Downloads "folder" from the DDG hamburger menu, it appears to only show files downloaded using DDG -- not everything in the Internal Storage/Downloads directory. Is there a way to navigate the filesystem for an open in DDG?

You'll need to use an xapk installer such as:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wuliang.xapkinstaller
