Ceramic Window Tint - Cost?

I'm considering doing ceramic window tint on both doors and glass roof on my R1T. If anyone has done it recently, please share what you paid if you don't mind. And if you had the rear door tints removed and replaced with the same tint as the front.

The rear and roof are a dyed glass, not tint. This is pretty standard across the auto industry. I had ceramic applied on all the windows, minus the windshield and roof. For the roof I used the a removable sunshade from one of the sites vendors, which is working great to reduce heat.

Rear windows aren't tinted. They're privacy glass, so you can't "remove" the tint since there is no film to remove.

Tint costs vary a lot regionally. That said, I did 35% ceramic tint on my two front windows, then 70% on all other window including the windshield. I did NOT tint the roof. Some have said it could potentially trap too much heat and is not recommended; however, I haven't heard a case of that actually happening.

I don't recall my cost on the R1T because I did a package deal with full PFF, ceramic, and tint. I'm going to guess your price quotes will range from $600-$1000 depending on the shop and film used, but I honestly have no idea what East Coast pricing might be. Like I said, just a guess.

Windows were thrown on as part of a full wrap.
But “clear” heat rejecting film for my windshield and roof were $200 & $300 respectively. I’m in S. Texas and highly recommend both

For Ceramic tint on the side and rear windows it would be $400. Windshield tint would be $250,windshield.Sunroof tint is $140.

Hi I live in Austin Texas and we had one of the hottest summers, I did ceramic coating on all windows air90 on windshield and also the roof glass it was around $1400 and the results were huge.

before the the AC on high I could still feel the heat from the side glass, now it’s super comfortable.

not cheap but well worth it

I went w/ 45% on driver/passenger windows (35% max by law in MD), 5% on windshield, and 75% on rest of glass including roof using XPEL PRIME XR PLUS: nano-ceramic particle formulation blocks 99 percent of the sun’s UV rays and more than 98 percent of its heat and infrared radiation—all without the metallic ingredients other films use that can disrupt radio, cellular and Bluetooth usage inside your car.

My ceramic coating in the Bay Area for all windows (no sunroof) was an about $1050. In CA, it's illegal to tint the windshield and front windows so I went with the lightest tint possibly (70% if I recall) and then a shade darker for the back. The key is if ya ever get pulled over, roll the windows down before the kind officer gets to the side of the truck and the tint is hidden.

I've heard some people tint the roof glass and others do not. Even though I have pretty sensitive eyes to light, I chose to not tint mine. on 100+ degrees this summer the heat wasn't that noticeable to me.

As others have said, you can't remove the rear tint, so it's just applying like they do the front windows.

Generally speaking, Xpel PRIME XR will be about 1500ish for an R1T and 2000ish for an R1S if doing all windows. Add about 30% for XR PLUS. Makes a dramatic difference in comfort plus nice knowing the UV is being blocked as well for your skin and the interior surfaces to prevent fading as the years go on.

Quoted $1400 for everything in SoCal. I did everything but the roof so paid $1000. May do roof in the future. At the time there were some comments of it cracking from heat trapped in the glass or something.

Total is $915 - done by authorized XPEL installer here in Southern Oregon.
