That isn't a CCS adapter. That's just J1772.Hi
While I was waiting for my Rivian wall charger, I used my wife's Tesla wall charge with the Leviton Tesla to CCS adapter without any issues. I can't say for sure if it will void the warrant but I don't think so - how would one know if you used the adapter?
Opps, true. Let me update that. That isn't a CCS adapter. That's just J1772.
There are no Tesla Supercharges in the USA that allow non-Tesla vehicles to connect, afaik... It's only a pilot program in a limited portion of Europe. So you'd have to ship your R1T to Europe to even use the adapter... And Rivian won't honor the warranty in Europe, anyway, independent of using a Tesla SC.Hello, am a new member .. Does the use of Tesla to CCS adapters void the Rivian Warranty ? Current Level 2 adapters .. Don't know of Level 3 Supercharger adapters ..Thanks, SHK
No, unless the adapter actually caused a failure... A manufacturer is not required to "warranty" damage caused by you or something else. But they can't "void" your vehicle warranty simply for using a part they didn't supply.Right... But would it void the Revian Warranty... if "some how" they knew it was used ?
Thnx
I've been eyeing the Tesla charger + Leviton adapter as it's one of the cheapest 60amp J1772 adapters on the market (and I have one tesla already), but the Leviton is not UL certified and if it were to malfunction and melt the charging port, i feel like rivian could void your warranty. I dunno...i'm not super confident that "Just" a J1772 adapter would be problem freeThat isn't a CCS adapter. That's just J1772.
I would prefer UL certification, but Leviton is pretty major in the electrical industry. They know what they’re doing. That said, I prefer the TeslaTap Mini form factor.I've been eyeing the Tesla charger + Leviton adapter as it's one of the cheapest 60amp J1772 adapters on the market (and I have one tesla already), but the Leviton is not UL certified and if it were to malfunction and melt the charging port, i feel like rivian could void your warranty. That would just be Tesla->J1772 then. Not CCS.Thnx, thinking of Level 2 .. not Superchargers ..
In my opinion, the TeslaTap Mini is the best option for a Tesla to J1772 option. It’s pricier than other options, but it is worth the cost. It’s small, well built, and works great.I would prefer UL certification, but Leviton is pretty major in the electrical industry. They know what they’re doing.
