Hello all- After receiving the dreaded "damaged during transit," my guide was amazing and found me a new R1T at the factory within days. I thought it was going to be some time before it reached my service center (Brooklyn), but I received the call today that it is ready for pick up. I really lucked out and it took less than a week.

I have seen some checklists floating around and I downloaded one of them. Are there any specific areas to focus on when I complete my pickup? I want to make sure that I do not miss any of the "known" issues.

Thanks!

There are different theories on how to approach your delivery. Some folks like to go over it with a fine tooth comb and use a checklist on site.

I knew I would be too excited to catch little stuff so i just had a short list of the major things that I wouldn’t want to find after driving away. Then I did a full inspection the next day at home when I could take my time and focus on it. My thinking was that I’m not likely going to refuse delivery so anything I found would just be a service request.

Either way the checklists cover pretty much anything you should be looking for.

Yeah- I am pretty excited myself...That is why I want to make sure I do not miss anything crucial. I will just over the checklists I have the best that I can. Thanks!

I am normally a very chill person, and I was on the outside that day I took delivery. I got there early and parked my Tacoma that I was trading in and while I was waiting my Apple Watch gave me an alert that my heart rate had been over 100 for 10 minutes while I was at rest :CWL:

Haha! That is awesome. I am also trading in the Tacoma Pro. As previously discussed, I am a little nervous also. I had no clue it was coming this soon. I have to get my chargers all lined up for work and home as well. This is my first EV, so time will tell...

Once it is at the service center everything moves very quickly and it sets in what a big purchase you are about to make! So far it’s been the best vehicle I have ever owned, and I loved that Tacoma…

I assume they gave you a decent trade in value? Mine was a 2017 that I bought barely used for $38k and Rivian gave me $36k for it after driving it for 4 years. I was thrilled with that.

Same here, my Tacoma is my favorite vehicle I have owned. I loved my FJ and kept it for 11 years, but the Tacoma wins hands down. I was very happy the price they gave me for my trade in. I am just about 4 years too, and they are giving me over KBB and Edmunds for it. I am a couple thousand over what you were.

So far, my guide has been great and a seamless process. So, I fully expect to drive 95SB back towards Philly and the R1T implode on the way.... haha!

That’s awesome. Other than the annoying service center situation in your neck of the woods, you are going to love it!

I just picked mine up last week on the day before TG. Dont sweat going through the checklist with a fine toothed comb while at the delivery center. You cant. Go over the big stuff and then take the weekend to go through the checklist. Thats what I did. Found some very small niggles and raised tickets. They were very prompt in scheduling an appointment to fix the issues. Here are the checklists I used if its helpful

Got it, thank you! That is actually one of the ones I have saved from these forums. I did not have the other two. I will highlight some of the important pieces, and do the rest over the weekend. Thanks!

I do software things

am I to take it Rivian is generally generous with trade-ins? I was going to keep my Mazda for sentiment (and use) but if I’m going to get a much better deal now, why not!

I can only speak for what they did for me, and I was very happy with it. No haggling or bs. They gave me a little better than KBB and Edmund’s and just under private sale. Good luck!

I was happy with their offer for mine, but I have also seen others who weren't so happy. Rivian's offer for my Tacoma was about $3000 over what local places would offer me for it at the time. This was in June 2023.

SO, no issues requiring Service Center visits? I ask as I am using the Colorado Springs SC address for delivery as we live in NM and there are no SC's here. Good ot hear about trade, too, as we have a Tesla 2020 Model 3 to trade in.
