We went by the new RAN in Chipley on Wednesday and it was still wrapped up. We again went by there today. Low and behold, it was operational. We plugged Opal in for a test charge. It worked great. There are 5 units in the line plus one across the way set up for a vehicle with a trailer.

This RAN is in Chipley, Florida in the Tractor Supply parking lot. It is just north of I-10 on Florida State Road 77, Exit #120 on I-10.

At the Chipley RAN ,the position of the chargers in the Tractor Supply parking lot is such that if the trailer spot is in use, all of the other five charging spots would be useable while pulling a trailer. The area adjacent to the five in-line charging spots is totally clear. A vehicle with a trailer pulled in straight to any of these spots would not impede traffic, parking, or use of the other chargers.

Also, this RAN's proximity to the Interstate is excellent. You exit the Tractor Supply parking lot at a traffic light intersection. The distance to the I-10 ramp is about 200'. There is a lot to do while waiting for a charge. In addition the the Tractor Supply, there is a Walmart and fast food restaurants directly across the street. Additionally, Chipley is a small town in the rural Florida Panhandle where crime is not an issue. You can feel very safe stopping to charge here even in the middle of the night.

Good RAN location between the Panhandle beaches and Atlanta. Would be great to see another near Columbus, GA too.

Not complaining too hard, but there already is a Tesla and EA chargers in Chipley while a huge area of the region is vastly underserved, especially in lower Georgia and Alabama. There are a number of towns in these areas midway between Pensacola and Atlanta that desperately need ANY rapid charger and I would have preferred Rivian expand this underserved region. The traffic between Atlanta and the FL Panhandle is growing rapidly and impeded by a lack of interstates as well as EV charging.

That is there very reason I appreciate the fact that there are no Interstate Highways for Atlanta and Nashville folks to more easily get to the Panhandle Beaches. The Panhandle Beaches can't handle many more visitors, so it's just as well that the small towns between here and the big cities are devoid of EV charging facilities.

This is great news. Having just ordered an R1S yesterday. I’m glad to have one in the panhandle a.k.a. Baja Alabama. We travel between Pensacola and Tallahassee frequently.
