Hey Colorado owners,
Been lurking for a while, but it's looking like my R1T should arrive sometime in March ... so thought I'd share my journey as I'm living vicariously through this forum watching you all take delivery and patiently (or not so patiently) awaiting my own delivery notification.
Some backstory ... I originally configured a Quad/Max R1T back in Jan. 2022 as I already had a deposit on a Cybertruck. My attitude was let's see who makes production first, and I didn't really care whether it was Rivian or Tesla. That is, until I did a First Mile drive in Jan. 2023 ...
From that moment I went into overdrive, I had to have an R1T and I had to have it now. I work from home, so my current Tesla Model X has been almost exclusively relegated to hauling my MTB and EMTBs in Summer, and Ski gear in winter (both are not it's natural purpose). After driving the R1T I realized it had the mix of luxury and practicality that was exactly what I was looking for.
I was certainly a little hesitant about the battery range, and I really did like the idea of a Dual Motor with Max as my desired configuration ... but as I kept reading all the reviews I perceive (right or wrong) that the Rivian real world mileage is close to rated, unlike my Model X. So on the advice of my First Mile guide, I changed my Max pack to Large, and simplified my design choices to increase my chances.
Happily, 2 weeks after my First Mile, I got a guide assigned, and 2 weeks later started the purchasing process. Now I'm eagerly sitting at 6 of 8 steps complete waiting, waiting, waiting for the delivery schedule option to appear.
I drive past the Denver Service Center every Sunday and walk the perimeter looking for my BM/OC R1T to be sitting in the lot. Sadly as of yesterday, it still isn't there, but I remain hopeful it's inside the shop getting final preparation, but in my heart I know it's somewhere on a train between Normal and Denver.
I have over $2K of accessories sitting in the garage, with everything from the Ride88 system, to the cross-bars, ski racks as well as the EV1 Running Boards and Rock Sliders (on order).
I'm also hanging for the spare tire to show up in the Gear Shop ... if not I'll happily lead a group of 4 in the purchase of a set of 20"AT (standard). If anyone has interest jumping on board with that let me know.
