Comma Extreme Dev Kit NOW AVAILABLE

Hey, I got my Comma 4 installed with the extreme dev kit. But, I am having a bit of confusion on what settings to have enabled/modified. I am running Lukas XNOR RX-dev branch.

Anyone have a full settings guide or recommendations to get started with angle based steering now?

GOAT, I almost had all of them the same except enabling experimental mode from following your replies on threads and YouTube comments.

No problem! The experimental mode settings are totally optional.

Do you use the default model or have a preferred model? I tried the turns with this and it’s turning into wrong lanes.

Try Gwmv9 or Dtrv6. Those are my go-to smal models. But yeah, that is an issue with the small.models right now. They aren't trained for making turns and the model doesn't use enough FOV from the cameras.

I was planning on installing the Ext-Dev kit a couple weeks ago with my C4, but I’ve been seeing so many issues people are having, that I’m honestly kind of debating returning the new kit and not messing with it (if that’s even possible). I’ve been really happy with my Longitudinal upgrade kit, and purchased the ext-dev for the angle-based upgrade. For those of you who’ve been involved in this, what’s the honest consensus on going through with it? My fear is that I’ll install it, get frustrated with it, and wish I stuck with my Longitudinal version.

I could never go back to torque-based steering, personally.

How do I turn off the street turnings? Is it just turning off lane turn desire?

My experience with the street turns have not been good and I don’t want to mess with it until I get used to the main functionality.

I have the Comma 4, without the longitudinal upgrade. I’m running the ap-staging branch with the North Nevada V2 model and, while there is room for improvement, I’m pretty darn happy with that setup. I was really looking forward to the latest XNOR upgrade, but, like you, I‘m not seeing a lot of glowing reports the would make me want to spend another $500ish. If making a 90º turn at an intersection is the main feature, I can live without that. Maybe, with time, we’ll get some more feedback on this upgrade.

What I would really value is the vehicle staying centered in its lane on long sweeping curves, without crowding or crossing the lane divider lines. But, I don’t know if anybody has figured that one out yet.
