Could be an issue, could be normal, but lately, the compressor has been randomly kicking on and pulling in air. I’ve noticed it happening while driving (I can hear it) and even when parked—but only after recently using the car.

Searched around and couldn't find anyone else with the same issue but my fear is this is integrated within the air suspension and there's an issue somewhere?

As an aside, when picking up groceries one of the hooks that hold the net snapped off. Has anyone else had this happen and, if so where can I buy a replacement?

Are you using auto ride height? If so it is normal for the compressor to come on when needed. Check if auto is on, mine occasionally is flipped on after an OTA.

If it is happening a lot then monitor the vehicle height when parked, if you find it drooping over night it could have a leak.

I thought about this, but isn’t auto ride height only active at speeds 45 mph and above? I keep it in AP drive mode with auto ride height enabled, but the car has only been on the highway once (9K miles in over 2 years ?). It’s mostly driven around town.

I do have kneel mode turned on, so when parked, it’s obviously slammed.

I haven't seen my truck droop / sag while parked; however, this weekend when I was installing my EVBase running boards I began to wonder if I had a leak. I put the truck up in the highest setting, to make working on it easier. It took me a little over 2 hours to install the running boards, and in that time the compressor must have come on a half dozen times. I wonder if this is happening all the time when the car is parked?

Kneel mode certainly will cause the compressor to kick on.

When I have auto on I certainly hear the compressor more and occasionally have a little suspension dance at lights. My preference is no auto, middle ride height in all-purpose and low in conserve.

I'm going to test it out. Just going to turn off auto and kneel to see.

I’d suspect a suspension leak. This would be the pump refilling air lost. As long as the pump has power it can keep ride height where it needs to be for smaller leaks And you won’t see sagging. I’m betting the system does not need extra air in kneel mode when power to the pump may be off. Someone correct me if I am wrong here. If I am right I’d take it off kneel mode, put it at a high ride height, and let it sit. You mght see some part of the vehicle drop.

Definitely not normal.
I have had my truck raised and in tire change mode for upwards of 4 hours for various things in the past and once it was raised and untouched, just sat there doing absolutely nothing. Stayed at height and compressor never kicked on.

Even Rivian's troubleshooting (to determine if there are suspension leaks) includes putting the vehicle in the highest setting and using a piece of painters tape or something to monitor the gap between the fender and the wheel with the expectation that the tape stays taut.

Well, the truck is scheduled to go back into the Malvern shop next week (because it is still randomly resetting itself) so I guess I'll have them look at the suspension too. :(

Mine runs fairly regularly but it's also auto-adjusting the height throughout the drive and I use kneel mode for entry/exit.

I assume the suspension compressor and not the inflator. The suspension compressor sits behind the wheel well and has a pretty large tank below the third row.
