Apple Music and Audible apps integrated into the vehicle Center Display

In-vehicle hotspot

Satellite Images

Alexa Connected commands

Data to access music streaming apps like Apple Music, Audible, Spotify, Tidal and TuneIn

Gear Guard Live Cam

Google Cast and YouTube (coming soon)

My R1S is in the shop since early Sept. Looking at what Connect+ offers, I don't see the benefit of paying $14.99 (Tesla charges $9.99,btw).
Is Gear Guard Live Cam active now?
Satellite images?
Maybe those two might be useful.
Have Amazon Music Unlimited through Alexa already. Other than that, I fail to see what the benefit is for me. Apple whatever, Spotify, all the other streaming options, which seem to be the big deal, hardly know anything about them; hotspot (better?), have not used them ever, and could not care less about either if I tried.

Do you steam Amazon music on your phone and connect via Bluetooth to the truck? If so then no you won’t see much of a benefit. If not you’ll need to hotspot the truck to your phone to get cellular connectivity. That’s the big thing connect + provides, cellular connection.

No. No cell phone required, no BT connection for it. I just use Alexa integrated into the vehicle. " Alexa, play my music," off it goes.
Like my Teslas, if there is no cell coverage where I am traveling, and there are quite a few dead spots, then there is no Internet and no Connect+ streaming or hotspot anything.

Yeah, that will need Connect+ going forward.

It’s important to remember that we’ve all (pre announcement drivers) had connect+ since day 1 but it just wasn’t packaged like that. So if you don’t subscribe, think of it like you will have “Connect-“ if you will ?

also, Tesla $10 doesn’t let you use lte as hotspot for passengers’ devices in the car

Thank you.
For me, I have no need for a hotspot; have not even attempted to use it. I have no need for Apple anything or other streaming services, either. I happen to have Amazon Music Unlimited, and it works great. The only thing I perhaps might find useful is the live camera part a la Tesla Sentry mode, but it is not enabled yet, is it?
Cannot check because my R1S has been in the shop for what feels like forever.
Still think that it is worth keeping in mind that vehicle has to have LTE service available for most of this to work, and when travelling, I have noticed that there still are (shamefully) vast expansions in America where there is no cell service of any kind, which makes all these features, including satellite imagery navigation disappear.

I had to chair a meeting while my wife drove us on US-30 through the Oregon Coast Range.

I arranged all the backup leaders so when I lost signal, the group could continue.

Connect+ didn't lose signal once. I was amazed!

For passengers who need/want to work, Connect+ is VERY MUCH worth what we'll pay in both Rivians.

Best to all!

This is a bunch of BS. Am I the only not happy with this? I was willing to put up with no Apple Carplay until this? Now, I bet every time I want to stream it will be giant PITA to get the hotspot on my phone to work.

Oh, and all this does is encouraging people to mess with their phones while driving if they dont want to pay for the service. These subscriptions are just getting out of hand

It's live. If you have gear guard on and have the latest app on your phone, you have exact same views as Tesla. The only thing is that Rivian uses very wide angle lens so the image is much more clear and direct on Tesla.

I’m hoping not to subscribe to +. I thought there was a way to have the R1T connect to my iPhone hotspot via WiFi and then I can play apple music. Is this correct? Thanks.
