Consensus on tint in TX?

Match front shade to rears and add ceramic film on ALL windows for UV and heat rejection? Film the roof or no? pros/cons?

I did mine at gulf coast tint. They did film on the roof, but it was still too hot so I added the sunshade as well.

I’m a week in of owning and this is next on the long to do list. I’m still worried about putting anything on the roof but the Houston heat worries me more.

I was going to darken the front and then the back a shade darker. For some reason I like the look of the darker in the back. I think the windshield will be a must too. I want to do everything possible to keep the heat out of the cabin. I’ve quoted 3 places on the Xpel and all seem to be about the same. It will come down to availability and when I can leave the truck for a day.

One quote I got in the Houston area is below. This guy advised not to put film on the fixed roof glass, and he provided an optional "off-road use only" option for the windshield. I wonder if I should just get clear film and/or eyebrow for the windshield?

this is helpful. i've only gotten one quote so far (above). get my R1T next week. but the one quote i have the guy advised not to do film on the roof. how is the sunshade holding up? do you ever take it down or is more of a permanent solution once it's affixed? difficult to put back on? look droopy or sagging? visible clips around the cabin ceiling?

I keep it up there. It makes a huge difference. Tint as well. You can get the magnets and suction cups so it holds up without sagging. I'm much happier with both.

I had my vehicle wrapped, tinted, and ceramic at American Detail in Northwest Houston. My R1T is over 2 years old at this point, and was one of the very first in Houston. They did an awesome job considering they had never even heard of Rivian. They were not the cheapest, but they did awesome work. My truck still looks as good as the day they finished it.

I got AIR80 ceramic on front windshield and Pinnacle Stratos on front 2 windows. I plan to go back and do the rest in AIR80 but skip the roof.

Windshield: Llumar AIR 80 (to maintain visibility), Llumar IRX 50, FormulaOne Pinnacle 50, 3M Ceramic IR 70/50

Front Doors: Llumar IRX 25 or FormulaOne Pinnacle 25, 3M Ceramic IR 25

All Rear Glass: Llumar AIR 80 and 3M Ceramic IR 70 - this brings the rear dyed glass VLT to around 20-21%, which is a very close match to 25%
