The Rivian’s ventilated seats work just as well as our seats in our 2019 Porsche Macan, which were the best we had experienced to date. Much better than the poorly ventilated seats in our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

And the cabin air is conditioned so….

Also, it works so well that I have to turn it off after 5 minutes!
I keep it on "•••" until it starts to really ice my back, then I turn it down to "•" just to keep the air circulating up my butt crack.

I enjoy the ventilated seats in the desert heat, but why does Rivian require me to manually turn them on each time I drive? I do not have to reset the AC. Dumb software.
Mine turn back on automatically after short stops. After parking overnight, I have to turn them back on again. Perhaps that's a power conservation feature requiring you to make a conscious decision to have them on.

On a similar note, I really wish the 3rd row vents would at least do that much. With the 3rd row folded and the dog riding in they back, I have to turn the vents on every single time we get in the car. While most people don't take their pets everywhere they go, my wife does take her Seeing Eye dog everywhere we go and I'd really like to be able to turn the 3rd row vents on and have them stay on. But hey, at least they provided the option to turn them on manually, couldn't even do that back when I took delivery.

We have had the ventilated seats in our last two Silverados. They worked pretty well, but the seats in the R1T are even better.

Yeah the cooled seats work better in my Rivian than any other car I've had with them. I've had 4-5 with that option now.
I'd have to agree. I am at about 4 prior with cooled seats too, and these are worlds better than any prior.

The cooled seats in my Rivian are the first time I've experienced cooled seats.

They're certainly nice, but its also a bit weird. It's basically having cold air blown up your butt.

Not a must have in the PNW (at least not for another 3-4 years), but certainly nice.

Evaporative cooling is a thing... and as much as my back sweats, this is perfectly fine for me.
And the cabin air is conditioned so….

It’s more a terminology thing. As @CommodoreAmiga mentioned, there are vehicles with actual cooled seats that blow refrigerated air. Rivians are ventilated only and while many here are finding them effective, they should be not be called cooled so as to avoid confusion. People might think that Rivians have a higher end feature that the vehicles actually do not have.

No problem if people want to praise the effectiveness of the ventilated seats though. Just don’t call them something they are not.
