I just picked up my truck from service center for some leftover issues. Everything felt OK.
On the way home, I had a small rock hit the windshield and caused some damage as attached.
I knew from the forums here there were many issues for roof and windshield glass and for this reason I went with the Rivian insurance option with nationwide. I figured between Rivian and insurance company working together it would be seamless if something went wrong.
I called insurance company and informed them. Conversation felt like person didn't know what Rivian is and what I should do. they opened a case and referred me to call the Rivian. Called the main number for Rivian Service and they are informing me that they I need to pay out of pocket and expect to get reimbursed from insurance company. First appointment I can be given is 3 months away because it is not in field of my vision.
They say I can work with Rivian approved collision centers but not sure if I should be trusting 3rd parties if Rivian can do it? Will have to call and check availability on all of them. Hope they will do a good job with it.
My whole reasoning for choosing Rivian insurance was hoping things like could have been handled faster and better. It seems like it is a false expectation at this point.
I spent more time waiting for service appointments, and documenting and detailing issues with truck. 10 months since I bought it, finally it felt good to drive it. and then this happens.
Any ideas on how to deal with this and maybe speed up the replacement?
