Well, as long as your very carefully measured thermal readings and your mathematic calculations are better than what the computer in the truck is doing, then I guess you are fine overriding the trucks well designed computer system.For cooling the pack, not usually. But sometimes preconditioning will kick in when I don't actually need it. For example, if I set a charging stop 30 minutes away, I don't want the dash to be buzzing for half an hour if it's only going to save me 4-5 minutes at the charger.
That computer system is not just concerned with speed of charging, but overall conditions for maximum health of the battery pack long-term.
