So in the past it has been R1T orders within a radius of the event, at seemingly random selection. They started with 3 days then expand as the days fill up.

Not sure if they have opened it to R1S holders since they have started production.
In seattle they had R1S and R1T reservation holders.

I’ve not received an email or notification in my Rivian online account. Feb 2019 reservation R1S LE w/ April/May delivery target, 26 miles from the Rivian service center. And a later reservation for an R1T max pack.

Probably not a lot of rhyme or reason. Oct 21 reservation here and I’m in platte park. I got an email and scheduled a ride.
Keeping an eye on my email. I’ve got an Oct 21 reservation as well. But I’m up in Erie.
This test drive is going to be make or break for me. My wife is VERY doubtful about us getting a high tech truck from a new company that just started building. She’s not bleeding edge like me. BUT I think the test drive will help a lot.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you you get a test drive! Sounds like she may wear the pants on this one?

You don’t stay married for 27 years without having an appreciation for your significant other’s opinion on major purchases.

In fairness, a lot of the main components are off the shelf. The Bosch motors for example are all the same from what I remember just with different gearing in the rear. While that by no means rules out failures completely it can certainly make them easier to remedy.

The software gremlins I hope they work out. I drove a new 2021 Passport for for a bit and the Android based tablet that controlled the infotainment would freeze every few months. And when I say freeze I mean the power wouldn't turn off and leaving the vehicle in that state meant a dead battery. It was so bad I purchased a small foldable USB keyboard so that I could type in a reset command I found online instead of popping the hood and removing a fuse teach time it happened. The Passport is essentially a 6" shorter version of the Pilot, a vehicle that's been on sale for years. How Honda released such crappy infotainment in their Honda/Acura products still confuses me.

I know you are just messing with him but my wife often makes more sensible choices than I do and I have never regretted going with her call. The point of having a significant other is covering your blind spots. It is not a sign of weakness to listen. It is all about having a better outcome. There is no doubt there is more of price/risk in a Rivian than it is in a Ridgeline but a test drive may make it clear if it is worth the risk and the price. He also have to consider the “I told you so”s he may have to live with if he get it despite her objections and Rivian fails him.

Test drive is definitely a good thing.

I had a thought about the seeming randomness of these invites and it may be nothing BUT...

Does it matter if you signed up for this?

Is there anyone that was an early pre-order for LE R1T in Denver that didn't get an email but did sign up for this? Or conversely, did everyone (especially recent pre-orders) that got an invite, sign up for this?

I'd hope it's not how they're sending invites and they're focusing on early pre-orders but based upon what I'm seeing that doesn't appear to be the case.

This theory can be shot down quickly but worth mentioning ?‍♂

Well that settles it then ?

Back to square one that it's pretty much random.

I have no idea how many times I have signed up already but I just did it again just in case. My inbox is going to blow up to pieces when their robot finally do send me a love letter.

I did the same thing. I am almost positive I signed up for that as soon as it showed up on Rivian’s website years ago, but E Parx saying that sparked my FOMO:facepalm:
