Did Rivian Give You a GOOD Value for Your Trade?

I very much doubt Rivian is making much on these trades--they are not a used car dealer, so they probably sell them off at auction or wholesaler is my guess...

Private sale was way better for me. Had a 2010 F150 that had a rebuilt title, Rivian offered me $2k, sold it private sale for $8.5k.

In 22 when our R1T arrived, Rivian quoted 18,500 for our Volt trade in... 23 for the R1S it was almost 6 grand higher for the same vehicle with another 1000 miles on it. It went bye-bye that time.

Surprised they even entertained an offer with a "rebuilt" title. FWIW- some ins co's won't even insure rebuilt/salvage title vehicles any longer.

I am awaiting delivery of my R1T (anticipated in the next 1-2 weeks). The amount quoted for my trade-in (2011 Subaru Outback) through the Rivian site seems close enough to its real-world value that, accounting for the hassle of private sale and tax benefit of trading in, it seems like a good option. My question for others who have traded in is: Does Rivian honor the stated trade-in value? Thanks in advance.

Mine was fair. Within 5% of what the other carmax type places offered. But with the sales tax benefit in MA it was better to trade in. And it was super convenient since Rivian drove the truck to my house and drove away in the tradein.

I bet I could have gotten more by doing a private party sale. But I did not want to deal with the hassle.
