Hi all, I’ve had an order for an R1S Adventure Package since December 2021. I checked the shop today and they have the exact combo (interior/exterior color, wheels, options) available except it’s a “launch edition”. It’s actually almost $2k less expensive because the 22’s are standard. So what’s the catch? Is this an old car? Should I just buy this one? Is there any reason to wait for my supposed “November/December “ order to be made?

It seems too good to be true, so let me know if I’m missing something.

I would jump on that right away. Don't wait or somebody else will get it.

It's true. LEs had free wheel upgrades.

Not old cars, they are still making them.

Ok thanks all. Of course it’s already gone but good to know if one becomes available next time!

What are you waiting for? Probably too late now.

R1S Launch Edition
Like everyone said, it's current. My guess is that they had enough pre-orders for launch edition and some people cancel their reservations. There are some very subtle differences like "launch edition" badging on dash and they probably have some stock left as well. I was so oblivious and when one popped up, I thought they accidentally forget to add upcharge for 22" wheels. I snagged it quickly. My VIN is 208** so still recent.

I was waiting for my Adventure as well and jumped on a Launch and received in June. 2023 build. And it’s great!

They are still making LEs, but my first grab in the store, was an old LE from early this year. I was able to change it and get a recent Adventure build.

Mine from shop is LE, June 2023 build, 25xxx vin. So yeah it's by far the best value if you can find one in the shop with free upgraded wheels (but not "AT Package" or you will be charged for that), and free Forrest Edge interior.

As others have said these are probably early orders that were cancelled.

I was checking the shop multiple times daily before mine eventually popped up. My truck isn't perfect but I feel pretty lucky to get this one.

Edit: Still waiting for my wristband key, two months later.

To answer your question: there is no difference in the vehicle other than an LE badge on the dash vs. an AE badge. that it. The exact same spec/vehicle. Zero difference. The LE has a different pricing model in which a few wheel upgrades were free, and you might get a wristband key for free. But that's it. So, an LE can save you some money.

Be aware… they can also be older 22 builds. They don’t say, so you need to ask your guide to check the vin. Myself and many others have gotten 22’s from the shop and they seem to be harder to get out of once you snag it.

CS and my guide told me they can't check the VINs in the store...

I've heard otherwise here though.

I tried to go that route and just said F it and picked an Adventure that was just under a 19k vin.

I have AE can you show what bage looks like; I don't see anything on my dash to depict my AE.

This is my exact concern. I obtained the Shop access last week and I have been noticing Launch Editions pretty much every day but my fear of obtaining an older model is what is preventing me from proceeding.

Is there any way that we can opt out at a later time if we know that it's an older build?
