Scenario-
Gear Guard set for away from home.
Run into grocery store
Leave dogs in truck
App notifies me that alarm is going off

Is there an interior sensor like for motion?

And what did the dogs say when you asked them about it? I would consider them ‘canines of interest’ in this incident.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Unfortunately they wouldn't talk
Perhaps you can find new ways to …. motivate them.

Edit: this might be worth an experiment, using Pet Mode on vs. off, see if you get different results. Clearly can’t control all the variables, but if it happens frequently with dogs in the truck, then might be an interesting test.

Typical. They must be working with Gary now.

It doesn’t say anything in the Rivian story on the website about a sensor inside. It does say there are multiple layers to gear guard like the cameras, cable, alarm, etc. My guess would be either the dogs were moving around in there and set it off, or someone else maybe saw the dogs inside and touched the truck?

https://stories.rivian.com/gear-guard-protection

I would hope that engaging pet mode would dial down the sensitivity of the alarm a bit since dogs always seem to jump in the front the minute you leave them alone in a vehicle :giggle:

Yes. There is an interior sensor and yes the dogs will set it off. With pet mode enabled the sensor alarm won’t go off.

Thanks for confirming this! Had this same thought after posting that it would be smart if in pet mode Gear Guard would act like "home" mode vs "away" on home alrm system.
Now I just need Rivian to enable the interior camera to prosecute the guilty party...most likely Winnie (younger black english lab). Our older lab probably slept thru the whole incident and would be a terrible witness
