Curious if anyone else thinks the latest software update made the AC weaker than the previous software version. Thanks for your input.

could be. i heard they might have included something to help address the loud a/c compressor noise. maybe one solution is to lower the output.

Mine definitely has, but I attribute it to the temps in the Midwest being 98-102 over the past 8 days. It was frustrating that the cabin wouldn’t cool down during a 30 minute drive. Seems much better once the temperate moderated slightly.

Not sure how rivian gonna solve this problems for folks that live in hot states. My AC is screaming crazy everytime i turn it on and continue to scream even I lower the fan speed. Only way I get it back to normal noise is turn it off completely and wait a few seconds and turn it back on. This has been happened since the last two updates. And yes. The ac seems weaker with this update

Wonder if Rivian needs to do another customer satisfaction campaign and upgrade the AC units in the cars produced so far.

I don't see how they can upgrade the ac units. Someone here that is familiar with the ac systems said lots of parts gonna need to be replace and not just a bigger compressor.

I only had my R1S a few days before 2023.30 dropped, but the middle row air flow is really low. It doesn't matter how high I set the front vents, the middle row barely produces. I thought it might be a mechanical issue, but when I turn off the middle row vents then back on, they blast for a quick second then revert to useless speed.

I think it’s software related. Debating about filing a service ticket

The problem is the AC compressor shakes like crazy so if you just pop the plastic even on low AC the things vibrating and shaking and I don't know why. They actually on the other hand is plenty powerful but I don't know how they will isolate that.

Having said that it doesn't really shake in the cabin or make ridiculous noise on my build like it does on some others so it must be the luck of the draw.

Turning off the floor vents up front helped with air flow in the middle row, but I still think the blowers are throttled too much.
