Start it in two clicks...

When you put it in Park, the tray appears in the upper-left of the screen (this is the one that allows you to quickly open the frunk, heat tunnel doors, charge door, etc.).

From that tray, click the icon in the upper-right corner, and Doggo-Moddo will be an option.

Ackchewally .... it takes 3 clicks, because after you press pet mode, you have to also verify enablement. Same with the hvac way.

Also, not everyone has the slide out set at automatically deploy on park too.

Weren't those disabled/ removed from later builds?

Yes and no

They existed in early builds like mine, were removed in (iirc, March 2023) for Gen 1
But they were added back "but totally off"in gen 2

so there's only like a 4 month window of folks who would be unable to benefit, even then, I imagine they didn't change the wiring harness, could be an easy service appt addition to add back the camera for those late Gen 1 builds

Okay! A) i never noticed that button. Thank you! B) however, that drops button presses on every stop from 4 to 3. Better, but there’s room for improvement. Again thank you for pointing out my lack of observation, but i still think there should either be a way for me to make a hot key in the tray, or it should recognize from use that it should auto-populate the hot key.

It is right in the HVAC menu, not buried at all. Pretty easy to do and I use it frequently.

Have you tried putting a Blink Mini ($18) in your Rivian connected to the WiFi? I don't know if WiFi stays on in Pet Mode, but it might be worth a try. I'm guessing someone here can chime in to say if this would work or not.

Outside of pet mode, system should retain rear vent settings from trip to trip. I get so tired of having to remember to turn on the rear vents again every single trip (and my dogs get tired of me forgetting to on hot days, lol).

Yes this is so annoying. And the third row settings as well. On our long road trips we always have our lab buckled in the second row seats and our large car fridge in the back. Both require AC.

My Tesla had that "baby monitor" feature and I used it ALL THE TIME. I hope they add it.

I don't use this mode, but I'd probably like a setting that could default to it being on, every time, without asking. The phone app could get a notification shortly after I've left the vehicle to ask if I intended to leave it on or not.

This. I'd love for pet mode or climate hold to have the ability to be a default action. Have a pop up that comes up when put into park that stays for a minute or so that is just a disable until next park. In the summer, I use pet mode constantly except when I park at home for the night.
