That helps explain why my Plaid only has about 2% degradation after almost 3 years. My R1T will live forever too.

I already spend more on tires than anything else other than what I lose to depreciation and what I spend on insurance. Tires and insurance are pretty much neck and neck. Last year I spent 5k on tires and slightly less on insurance.

Might save your battery degradation but at the cost of some pretty damn expensive tires.

On the other hand, onramps are there for a reason. ?

It’s worth noting that there may be limits to this. Batteries generally don’t like heat, and repeated hard acceleration can put serious thermal stress on an EV’s battery pack. Quick bursts of acceleration in between sustained cruising might be helpful, but repeated quarter-mile drag strip runs might not carry the same supposedly helpful properties.

So only gun it around in winter: check.
