There is hope for earlier delivery than Oct to December especially since I have the same specs. When was your order date and region?
Per your many requests on the forum, he had it in his signature! I'm also thriving on this potential hope for an earlier VIN. He ordered Reservation: 11/28/2018 | PBA signed: 4/19/22 and in Plymouth, MI.

Oh whoops it's a scroll within the signature, hard to tell on the phone but awesome!

Congrats! The Model Y and the R1S are night and day different vehicles and I think you will have a lot more utility, and hopefully joy in the R1S.

Too many of us get lured into the 0-60 mph time of a vehicle. I think that it is a brilliant marketing move by OEMs because it gets you to focus on that one element which will likely factor in a tiny fraction of your day to day experience vs the 100 other things that makes a vehicle practical, comfortable, and a joy to drive.

Keep us posted and can't wait to see your pictures!
Couldn't agree more. Also, not a lot of places (outside the track) to run the cars.

Last week I was in Atlanta and rented a Tesla Model Y and was very impressed. I came home thinking it was time to piviot away from Rivian because I had no idea when I would actually get the R1S and I was days away from ordering a Model S PLAID to be delivered in about 30 days when I logged into the rivian site this morning to find that I have the 8-steps open and a VIN assigned!!!!

Over 3.5 years and its finally happening....

Thank you Rivian!! Can't wait for delivery!

3/8 steps done.... waiting till Monday for proof of insurance when my agents office opens.

Congrats, great to hear there are people getting vins assigned for the R1S.

Do you mind sharing the vin sequence number very interested in how may R1S vehicles have been made.

This is very exciting! I am a Oct-Dec too. In the meantime I did not defect to owning a Tesla, I did find a new subscription service that only requires a 3-month commit, then it becomes a month-to-month. So, I have had the Model 3 for almost a month to tide me over to when my delivery happens—-good way to pass the time.

Model S is quite different to the R1S. Glad you didn’t actually defect to Tesla and will experience a superior built vehicle.

Congrats. I have had (between my wife and myself) 5 Teslas since 2014. Two Model S, One Model X, and Two Model 3s. I just rented a Model Y in California. One of the things that surprises me about Tesla is despite their constant iterations of ongoing improvements that Tesla still has not seemed to have ironed out consistent better quality control.

I agree with you! I’ve had plenty fast gasser’s, but fast electric is a whole different experience that I’m looking forward to having as a daily driver. (On the rare chance I want to “shoot the gap… safely”)
We have a Model 3 LR with the software performance upgrade, so something like 3.7s 0-60. It's fun, but at least for us, 90% of our car trips involve a 4 yr old and 4 mo old in the back. Wearing the dad hat means I go cautious and drive it like a granny most of the time.

Now when I'm alone, my right foot suddenly weighs 50 lbs when on the pedal.... ;)

Yes me too! The 0-60 in 1.99 sec is what attracted me to Model S. But I’m confident I’ll be satisfied with the 3.0 0-60 in the R1S ?
Satisfied huh.....

They don't need to fix anything....people continue to buy them as quick as they can build them

Congrats! Glad to see the earliest adopters get rewarded for a LONG, somewhat patient journey! Enjoy the ride.
