The Environmental Action Community (EAC) of WNC is raffling off a Rivian R1 series vehicle on July 13, 2024. We are only selling 5000 tickets at $200 each. The winner will be able to spec out a brand new, customizable Rivian R1 vehicle, and the EAC pays the prize taxes, for a total value of $125,000.

We want to supercharge the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to build out robust green infrastructure in our community. For just $200, the proceeds from the raffle will fund our big vision of a world with non-polluting, carbon-free, renewable energy for all.

• Assisting with the purchase of EVs to electrify public works and police fleets
• Upgrading low-income residences to lower energy burden and spread the fruits of beneficial electrification

In short, we want to become the most electrified community in America, and then teach others how to get there.

Why not? Maybe you should create your own regional environmental advocacy organization, get people to volunteer, apply for grants, perform community outreach, and then run your own Rivian raffle as you see fit.

Thanks for your question. Our goal is ambitious, but so is the challenge of building out EV charging and solar in a community without any history of those investments. As an all volunteer organization, the EAC wants to make visible these technologies, and seeing it up close offers opportunities for education and demystification. By conducting our raffle, we'll be able to leverage IRA elective pay to nonprofits to build out more capacity than we could before. And by helping low-income residents of our town and county, we hope to lessen the prevalence of those having to choose between "heating and eating" in the winter. We have a long way to go, but we're excited for this opportunity. Please join us on our journey by buying a ticket. Thanks so much.

This is a common way for non-profits to raise money. Ours does a 50/50 which is literally free money for us, we don't spend a dime and can raise hundreds. That's essentially what any lottery is, 50% to the winner and 50% to the state fund of choice.

Hell, we even had Santa donate $1200 he raised at the Elks Lodge for a chance to shave his beard at New Year's!
