Coming from a Tesla, I've never liked Slacker streaming(or whatever recently replaced it), but it was actually pretty decent at playing whatever song you asked it to play from voice control.

With a new R1T, I realize I don't subscribe to any of the audio services offered. No Apple Music, no Spotify or Audible, no TuneIn account.

Other than connecting Bluetooth and launching from the phone, is there an easy way to just tell the car to play a song/station/album and have it start playing music, like through Alexa?

Alexa's default is Amazon music if you haven't changed it. It'll sometimes play a specific song if you aren't subscribed to unlimited.

Thanks, I skipped the Alexa setup on delivery and haven't added it yet. Will give it a shot.
