Also, the charge was free. I didn’t have to swipe a card or use the app. Is that something EA does from time to time?
Only when they're broken somehow

When I click on a charger location in the EA app it has a "report an issue" button on the bottom were you can write a text.

Outofspec also said on his videos to hit them with the charger location on twitter.

I feel like there should be a real organized movement to report all the bad chargers to EA through the app and twitter as much as possible. I suspect that their systems shows chargers are fine when they aren't and even with all of EAs problems, they can't fix what they don't know is broken.
I found it, but it’s buried in the settings, at least on the iOS app. I don’t see an option in the station or location screen.

Second stop at Walmart in Forrest City, AR. Pull up to 350kw and plug in. Ramps to 40kw and just sits there.

Unplug and move next door to the 150kw unit. “Unavailable” ?

Hop in again and move to another previously occupied 350kw unit. Plug in, and it ramps up to 209kw almost immediately. Finally.

What a mess.

At least it was free, just like earlier. Seems to be EA-wide today in light of some upgrades being made.

I've had exact same thing happen to me several times. It's just the current state of charging with EA. Always rolling the dice.

Interesting. Maybe because I'm using Android. When I click on a charger on the map and scroll all the way to the bottom I see this

And then when I click on the report button I see this

I agree they should.make it easier to report. Maybe make an icon on your phone that directly loads a tweet to them haha

Jesus Christ.

Third stop. Walmart in Clarksville, AR. Pull up to 350kw charger and plug in. Ramps to 187kw. We go inside and buy some drinks.

Come out 10-15 minutes later. Charging has stopped. No alerts because it was a free session. It had been stopped for several minutes. I unplug, then the station says both cables are unavailable.

I back out of the spot and turn around so I can reach the cable of the other station. Get out and discover the screen is locked. I call EA and have them reset the station. It comes back up and immediately freezes.

I notice in the meantime the original charger has come back up. I swing back around to it and plug in. It ramps up to 37kw and stays there. I reset the truck and plug back in. Still 37kw.

I move over to the CCS/Chademo unit. CCS shows unavailable. Guy in the only other stall (a 350kw unit) says he’ll be done in about 10 minutes. In the meantime I move back to the 37kw charger.

He leaves. I hop in his spot. The screen on the charger is not working, but I plug in anyway. Truck ramps to 217kw.

This is wholly unacceptable. I told all of my EV-doubting friends they were exaggerating the additional time spent charging on longer trips. Turns out they were not only right but were completely underestimating due to the problems actually getting a reliable charging session started.

If CarPlay wasn’t the nail in the coffin for me switching back to ICE this trip has certainly done it.

I just did a 2,000 mile trip and only had one issue with a charger. Changed to other plug and all was good.

All charges were free. Message said that EA was updating their system.

One big advantage that Tesla has is it’s own charging network. I rarely experience any trouble or slow service.
