Rivian Adventure networks, Tesla Supercharger, and home I can just plug in and charge, Once set up I don't need an app or credit card to charge my R1Sv2

Are there other networks Electrify America, Charge Point, Blink..... That I can do the same? I've searched and can't find any for easy charging. Most require a credit card or phone app. Is the communication between the car and the charger that complicated?

Wishlist => Plug, Charge, Go!
No app, no phone, no credit card or RFID chip waved by a reader.

Plug and charge is just Telsa and RAN right now. I know for Electrify America you use a credit card. The issue is not so much the communications with the car, but the backend, i.e. the charging network talking to Rivian.

It seems like I have had plug-and-charge experience with CharePoint...right? Or maybe I have to tap the screen with my phone.

Also, I avoid RAN charging as it's -- in many cases -- much more expensive than Tesla. I have a subscription with Tesla that is well worth the monthly subscription cost. BUT...I go on very long trips. If I were charging at home, yeah, I would not have the subscription.

Also...to use make sure you get the Tesla subscription rate, you cannot plug-and-charge. You have to go through the Tesla app. Otherwise, the costs will go through Rivian...at a premium.

Just get the apps. It’s not that hard.

I've charged a lot at EA Stations and typically it's pretty painless to charge there. I use their app and it loads the charge station based on phone location, then once the truck is plugged in, I initiate the charge through the app.

It's really pretty painless and takes about 10 seconds.

In comparison to RAN chargers, EA is typically cheaper and I'll usually use them. The exception is in Placerville, CA on the way to Lake Tahoe that we stop in a lot. The EA Station is downtown in an BofA Parking lot with nothing around (not even a bathroom) while the RAN/Tesla chargers are up on the hill where there's a nice Target, grocery store, and other shops. I figure the difference is the price for a nice bathroom and chance to get a coffee without the hassle

I believe IONNA is supposed to have plug and charge with Rivian soon.

They made a big deal about it a few months ago, and people thought Rivian was being added to the list of investors.

You should know that your Costa for Tesla plug-and-charge are significantly higher than if you have a Tesla subscription and use the app to initiate.

I have had plug-and-charge with EVGo (now mostly GM branded), but it is not tied into RAN so you do have to download their app and use a credit card the first time. Work d pretty seemlessly on road trips but I have none of those chargers in my immediate area.

Have also had really good luck with the Mercedes fast chargers at my nearest Buc-ees. No need for an app or adapter since they have both CVS and NAC cables. Just plug it in and tap your phone or credit card and you're in business. (Easier than Tesla charging with the app.)

It's funny how polar opposite experiences can be. I've only ever had ONE good EA charge. Otherwise there has always been a problem from having to try 5 times, or super slow, or just a dead station completely. And I've never seen any EA that's cheaper than Tesla. But RAN is indeed stupid expensive now. But so is EA.

Evgo, I just plug in my R1T and walk away, it's all automatic once you add your R1. Charge point gives you a small rfid card for free, keep it in your R1 and it's pretty fast. I avoid EA stops, they are usually broke/inoperable.

Are there plans to incorporate the discounted membership prices like with Tesla to plug and charge capabilities? I'm very new to this as my R1T is my first EV. I'm ok with using the apps but my wife is technology challenged and the plug and charge makes her happy.
