We do not have the means to make it out of anything else. In my opinion, with the black and how shadows hit everything. It doesn't look 3d printed.

I'm possibly the few who actually like the 3D printed look and feel of the cup, and if it can be produced in compass yellow to match the interior bits, two thumbs way up, if only as an option.

When you order let me know. Wrinks wants a pop of yellow. So I can produce a few in yellow for the base.

Asking my metal guy if this possible. Oh. And the magsafe would have to be exposed. Its a no go through metal.

I'm okay with this. I actually like the exposed look for the puck. Also will keep best charging performance.

The exposed pucks will certainly break up the topo pattern, so I don't think is a great look.

I need to talk to Wrinks (the other half of s00nish) and figure out our pricing. I have already soldered 25 OEM chargers for the pre-ordering process, with another 25 to make. I also have to start making the bases (a 6-10 hour print depending on nozzle size). So there are a lot of pieces in motion. I have a feeling, we will setup preorders this weekend or early next week.

Gotcha, thanks for the update. Had been following but then stopped for a bit. My TWraps me is terribly slow at charging. What route are you going? Plug into USB-C or hardwire in with the adapter? Apologies I haven’t been following for a bit.

We are connecting directly to the original OEM connector, where the original Rivian charger connected. I bought the molex connectors, and have been soldering the dc buck charger. This install will be plug and play for the end user. Also with covering the magsafe charger you can run the Apple magsafe chargers and not have to worry about looks.

Last question, I swear. Are you using OEM apple MagSafe chargers? The reason I ask is I know that non-OEM MagSafe chargers limited to 7.5W by IOS

I am. But we don't sell those. You'll always be able to bring your own pucks. With no issues.
