I’ve got a Wave 1 Lightning reservation which includes the free 80-Amp Ford Charge Station pro. Will this be comparable with the Rivian? Assuming it will be fine for charging my R1T as well (although realize the intelligent backup power feature won’t work unless Rivian releases the capabilities). Anyone have any insight?

It will work with it, but my understanding is irs a CCS connection to enable the V2H, so I suspect it will be rather annoying to use daily.

Lol. What does “irs a ccs connection” mean? I don’t need it to run my house, just want to use it to recharge my R1T as I otherwise would just be using the level 2 mobile charger overnight.

There appear to be two different versions of the ChargeStation Pro. One is just an 80A EVSE, with J1772 connector. That one will work fine with the Rivian, although the Rivian won’t be able to get the full 80A.

The other one is meant to be paired with the home power backup unit, and uses a CCS plug. From the publicly available documentation, the “charging” function uses standard 240V AC though the J1772 part of the CCS plug. This *should* work, but it is officially outside the CCS spec, so some vehicles may detect a CCS plug has been plugged in, and not work with the AC power being sent. We’ll have to wait for someone to install this version and try it on a Rivian to find out.

Its unlikely Rivian's backup solution will every work with Ford hardware unless there is a standard. Both systems will need to be able to disconnect mains power to the home and have a load shedding option. So the actual implementation will be more complicated than just buying the right wall connector.

Both Ford and Rivian will need to limit use for warranty purposes with todays nickel based battery chemistries.
