Lets be clear about what we are talking about here. Is it 1) the WIFI/Hotspot thing (which I have never used) or 2) the cellular connectivity that they truck needs to function while on the road and not connected to my home wifi?

I do not have the email yet.
There is no email yet, and we are talking about both 1 & 2. Though to be clear, the truck does not require a cellular connection to function. Some optional features do, but the vehicle itself does not.

We have unlimited data with T-mobile so, when it ends, we probably won’t subscribe.
I wish Rivian would have made the SIM chip replaceable with other carriers.. our phone plan we get 4 lines but only have 3 devices (my phone, wife’s phone and daughters), so we are wasting the othe line. Why do these car companies think everyone wants AT&T….we had it, it sucked
It likely uses an e-sim so, theoretically (as long as the bands are supported by the chipset), they could allow any carrier.

I think I will email T-Mobile and ask.....doesn't hurt. Thanks for the advice

I looked it up once. It's pretty much stuck with AT&T. It'll work to some extent with t-mobile, but its missing a lot of frequency bands needed for rural t-mobile coverage.

In any case, Bring your own SIM is not an option.

About $100 per year would be very cheap relative to the competition. I was expecting somewhere around $15 per month.
Tesla is $99 for the year for “premium connectivity”
