I had a slow leak on the front of my Gen 1 R1T and service replaced both front dampers. I asked if the work could impact alignment and they said that "no alignment impacting components are altered during this repair", and "an alignment adjustment is not necessary after this front suspension repair". I also noticed that the parts are retrofit parts (I would imagine from Gen 2).

What do you all think of that response - I'm not very knowledgeable on suspension geometry, etc.? Obviously, I could just go get it checked, but part of me feels like they should check it anytime they do a suspension repair?

It's an updated design, and I believe Rivian can't or won't get new ones from the original manufacturer anyway. Totally normal.

The dampers aren't involved in alignment because the front suspension is double wishbone and not MacPherson strut like you're probably used to.
